I never knew a bigger Brewers fan than Mike Neufeldt, who was my co-editor of the high school newspaper at Eisenhower and is one of the reasons I’m here tonight. I’m thankful that his mom and sister stopped by the press box to show me that he is here at the World Series, too.

Family Ties 💜 Earlier today, our program had the opportunity to visit Doug Collins Court at Illinois State. Doug, Coach Collins father, started for the Redbirds from 1971-73, and averaged 29.4 points per game. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1973 NBA draft.

HEY, CHICAGO!!🍺⚾️🏈 @oldstylebeer #Cubs #DaBears
UNBELIEVABLE. A Cubs fan friend from Ohio brought me some Old Style Beer in her suitcase. I never thought I’d get to do the CHICAGO HANDSHAKE in Japan. I can’t thank her enough. It’s so special that I don’t even know when to drink it. @oldstylebeer @JeppsonsMalort

Matt Suhey passed away yesterday. He was my dad’s closest friend. After we lost my dad in 1999, Matt became the biggest father figure I had. When everything felt uncertain, he was there. My dad left him in charge and Matt never let that responsibility sit lightly. He protected our family. He looked after us. He made sure we were okay, year after year, without ever making it about himself. That is who he was. Their friendship showed me what real friendship looks like. Not the easy kind. The kind that lasts when the lights go off, when the stadium is empty, when life gets heavy. Brian’s Song told the story of Piccolo and Sayers. Somebody needs to tell the story of 34 and 26. Two men who trusted each other completely. Two men who became brothers. I know @walterpayton was standing there waiting for him the second he got to heaven. I can see it. That smile. That hug. That reunion they both deserved. Our family is so thankful for the love he showed us over the years. The Payton family will continue to lift Donna, Joey, Allison, and Scotty up in prayer during this difficult time. Rest easy, Uncle Matt. We love you. We always will. 🙏🏽🐻⬇️ #Bears

When the minority became the majority or… the entire line up 🙌
Let’s salute the “All-Brother Team” that impacted an entire panorama of a singular sport. #OTD in 1971, the Pittsburgh #Pirates fielded a lineup of Black and Afro-Latino ballplayers. It was a historical moment in #MLB history that should NEVER be forgotten.

It was #OTD in 1982 that the Chicago #Cubs retired Ernie Banks’ #14 at Wrigley Field, making him the first player in franchise history to receive the honor. Jack Brickhouse was the Master of Ceremonies as Ernie saw his number 14 raised on the left field foul pole where it continues to fly today

A funny in-game video for Bulls game would be asking Jerry Reinsdorf to name guys on the current roster.

The Craig Counsell effect. Even with injuries, the Cubs’ roster usage in 2025 looks nothing like it did in 2023 under that front office and David Ross. Here’s the difference 🧵 (1/8)

5 years ago I started exposing the #gurus because I believed that what they are teaching kids is detrimental to kids development. It’s no coincidence that most of them have blocked me on various social media platforms. This guy @OPPtraining in particular is responsible for changing the swing of Kyren Paris, the #4 prospect in the @Angels Organization in 2024, this offseason which has resulted in Kyren hitting (.190) in the @MLB and now under (.230) in AAA. Hopefully Kyren abandons the HLP (All or nothing) style before it ruins his career like it did Scott Kingery’s. Scott worked with this instructor this offseason as well and after a brief call up where he hit (.160) is back in AAA and time is running out. The funny part is I think this guy actually believes what he’s saying while every former @MLB player I know is laughing his ass off and shocked that anyone could possibly buy into this 💩! Do your homework parents. Chances are your kid is not the next Aaron Judge. #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @SliderDominate @slider_sinker @ROXSystem @BLocsports @CRAIG_LAPINER @hittingguru7 @TheRealJHair @WillClark22 @DMEASrecruiting @GDBJr5 @RealCJ10 @ToddPratt07 @GreggOlson30

Ok, this is something: Michael Busch is the 3rd Cubs player with a 3-HR game against the Cardinals. All 3 did it on Independence Day: Moises Alou on July 4, 2003 and Hank Leiber on July 4, 1939. C'mon.
