People talk of the economy and business as if they are independent entities to be appeased. They are not. They are creations of people, run by people, manipulated by people, controlled by people. It's the greed of the people in control that needs addressing.

Mitochondrial Eve is the most recent common matrilineal ancestor of all living humans....
She wasn’t the only woman alive in her time, but she’s the only one whose direct maternal line remains unbroken to this day. Mitochondrial Eve lived roughly 150,000 to 200,000 years ago, likely in East Africa. What makes her special isn’t that she was the first human woman or even the only ancestor we all share—it's that the tiny loops of mitochondrial DNA inside her cells have been passed down from mother to child, again and again, through thousands of generations.
Unlike nuclear DNA, which is a mix of both parents' genes, mitochondrial DNA comes solely from the mother. Fathers don’t pass it on. That means it offers scientists a kind of genetic breadcrumb trail, allowing them to trace back humanity’s maternal lineage like a map etched in the body. Over time, some maternal lines die out—either because of no daughters or because the chain breaks—leaving only one unbroken strand that threads its way into everyone alive today.
But Mitochondrial Eve was not a "first" or a singular origin point. She’s part of a much wider, messier web of human ancestry. There were other women—many, many others—whose descendants survive today through mixed lines of ancestry, just not through an all-female line. So while she’s not the “mother of all humans” in a literal sense, she is our shared mother in this very specific, maternal genetic way.
Her story reminds us that genetics can tell quiet, persistent stories that stretch across centuries. One woman, living her life in a world unimaginably different from ours, left behind a genetic legacy that we all carry deep inside us—even now.

As long as we have water privatisation, the system will never "work in our interests"
The government should take water into public ownership (normal in 9/10 of world)

Ofcom report confirms its own ineffectiveness. theguardian.com/society/2026…
The paragon of utter incompetence that is Ofcom has imposed over £7 million in fines on 11 service providers for breaches of the UK Online Safety Act. However, the vast majority of these penalties remain uncollected as companies simply refuse to pay them 🤦♀️theregister.com/security/202…

Is the BBC Chris Mason going to be investigating why the Covid-19 inquiry into the Conservative Party handling of care homes in the pandemic disappeared out of the news quicker than a fart disappears in the wind?🤔

Of all politicians I despise, this dissembling, lard faced chancer most. Venal, bloviating, performative piece of 💩 with zero integrity. Claims of near death by Covid? bollocks, think of the thousands he threw under the bus of herd immunity. Then there’s bloody awful Brexit! 🤬

I have 2 grandchildren who want to be paramedics.
The one who lives in England has to pay £7000 a year. The one in Scotland pays nothing and gets £10000 a year income.
That's what our SNP government has done for us. 🏴

They call it a cost of living crisis. But when companies keep raising prices while reporting record profits, it starts to look like a cost of greed crisis.

So pissed we've allowed LLM's to be called AI . LLM's are not intelligent. They cannot reason like a human. If programmed well they can guess the next, most accurate thing to output after any previous output based on programmed criteria, but it doesn't "know" a goddamn thing.

It's utterly ridiculous that we have all these supposed billionaire geniuses running around, and their greatest innovation of our lifetime has been stealing our personal data to sell us targeted ads.

Lots of Zionists aren't Jews.
The Board of Deputies largely self identity as Zionists.
The Media often report the Board of Deputies as the opinion of Jewish people.
Yet many Jewish people say #NotInOurName
