Stellar's Latest Upgrade Brings Quantum Safe Smart Contracts Stellar (@StellarOrg) stellar:native has launched Protocol 30, known as Bell, on testnet ahead of a November 23 mainnet vote. The upgrade introduces three major changes for developers and network infrastructure. Smart contracts can now verify post-quantum ML-DSA signatures, an early step toward quantum-resistant accounts. Another change allows smart contracts to use muxed addresses for tracking customer payments. Bell also introduces millisecond ledger timestamps, preparing Stellar for faster ledger times.

WTH?! The EU has officially lost it's damn mind. They are going to taxing ai businesses, when they have no ai businesses. Keeping new businesses from being created and now if the zombie apocalypse comes they want people to think about how to pay the banks and other bills?!
🇪🇺 The EU is telling 450 million people to pack an EMERGENCY bag. And it has put “payments” on the same list as food, water and medicine. On November 3, Brussels unveiled new crisis guidelines. The rule: every household should be able to survive the first 72 hours of an emergency on its own, with a grab bag ready to go. The 7 things the EU says you NEED to cover: 1. Food 2. Water 3. Heat and light 4. Medication 5. Hygiene 6. Information 7. Payments Why payments? Because card machines and banking apps NEED power and internet. In April 2025, when Spain and Portugal lost power, card terminals went dark and people queued at cash machines that still worked. Some countries are already going FURTHER than Brussels: • Sweden tells people to cope on their own for a full week • The Netherlands raised its advice from 48 hours to 72 • France published a 27-page survival guide The EU even wants an annual Preparedness Day, starting October 23, 2027. The guidelines are non-binding. Brussels says the goal is to avoid panic, not cause it. But the message is clear. People are expected to have a way to pay that doesn’t depend on the grid. If the power went out tomorrow, how would you pay for anything?

🇫🇷 FRENCH BANK CONFIRMS CYBERATTACK LINKED TO $133 MILLION CRYPTO THEFT Crédit Mutuel Arkéa confirmed hackers executed fraudulent transactions, with blockchain investigator @zachxbt estimating losses exceeding $133 million. Blockchain analytics firm Bitquery traced $108.8 million in USDC withdrawn from Kraken, Cryptocom, and OKX accounts over 21 hours. The attackers rapidly converted stolen stablecoins into ETH to avoid issuer freezes, swapping $63 million into 27,553 ETH in just four hours. The bank says the attack is contained and customers will suffer no financial losses. The full amount stolen remains unconfirmed.

Portugal would have everything to thrive and be the #1 tech hub of Europe, having already attracted some of the best of tech. Yet there’s always something breaking. This engineer working at Cloudflare hired eleven people in Lisbon while waiting for his permit, and was denied. All of this in a context where the IFICI regime currently in place was designed specifically to attract (and retain) talent like this, at least based on what I can read about this story and his role. Hopefully someone fixes this, especially because it can't easily be explained otherwise how high-value-adding professionals, who are literally hiring in the country, are prevented from staying while many others have been allowed in without any specific substantive explanation. I can't see a winner or a logical explanation for this, and I don't think any political side can benefit from it.
just received notice that an Eng leader here at Cloudflare who moved to Portugal from the US has had his residency permit denied in the months he has been waiting for one, he has hired five full-time engineers and six interns here in Lisbon. alongside the hundreds of others we employ here @govpt @mpresidencia_pt the immigration insanity here is making it increasingly hard to just operate a tech office in Lisbon much less grow one

We called it. MASS TOKENIZATION is officially here. Morgan Stanley, with $10.5 TRILLION in client assets, has started tokenizing U.S. stocks and Treasurys through DTCC. This creates digital tokens investors can move onchain between wallets, much like crypto. Morgan Stanley is among the first banks to use the service and one of 20 firms that signed up for access. 1. Alpaca 2. Apex Clearing Corporation 3. Barclays 4. Bank of America 5. BNP Paribas 6. Brown Brothers Harriman 7. Citadel Securities 8. Citi 9. Clear Street 10. DriveWealth 11. Edward Jones 12. Fidelity Investments 13. Interchange Clearing 14. J.P. Morgan 15. Marex 16. Mirae Asset Securities (USA) Inc. 17. Morgan Stanley 18. State Street 19. UBS 20. Velocity Capital LLC
Nobody is paying attention to this. "MASS TOKENIZATION" is coming, and most people have no idea what's coming. 1. The $115T stock market will be tokenized 2. The $117T bond market will be tokenized 3. $390T real-estate will be tokenized 4. $26T+ in gold will be tokenized 5. $15T in private funds will be tokenized 6. US government debt will go digital 7. Private loans will go digital 8. Arts and collectibles will go digital 9. Roads and power plants will go digital 10. $7T/year Insurance industry will go digital 11. Every firm will have their OWN onchain product 12. Companies launch their shares onchain 13. Stablecoins, moving $7.3T a month, become the normal way to move money 14. Markets stop closing, running 24/7 15. Settlement drops from T+1 to seconds 16. Money and assets cross borders without correspondent banks 17. Everything you own becomes something you can borrow against 18. Finally, crypto and tradfi become the same market 8.2 BILLION people on Earth will use it without knowing.

One of the main reasons people become frustrated with crypto tax software is that they have gaps in their data. BitMEX, BitMart, and AscendEX all recently announced that they were closing down. If you did not download your transaction records before access was removed, you are left with gaps in your trading history. Without those records, it can become difficult to prove when you acquired your assets and what you paid for them. When crypto tax software does not have complete information, it may report higher gains than you actually need to include on your tax return. That can overstate your taxable income and cause you to pay more tax than necessary. Missing crypto data is very common, but there are ways to rebuild parts of the record. For example, you may still have trade confirmation emails from an exchange. These emails can show that, on a particular date and time, you bought or sold a specific asset. Although they are not the same as a complete transaction history, they can still serve as supporting evidence. We used this approach for a client we defended against the IRS who had moved a large amount of Bitcoin from an old exchange that had closed into his Coinbase account. The IRS challenged the incoming Bitcoin transactions during the appeals process because we did not have the original transaction history from the closed exchange. However, the client still had email confirmations from the old exchange. Those emails aligned with Coinbase’s records showing the incoming Bitcoin transactions. Together, the records helped demonstrate that the Bitcoin arriving in Coinbase was not new income. It was a transfer of the client’s own assets and therefore was not taxable as income. Because we were able to prove that, the audit was closed with no change to the client’s tax assessment. This is why preserving every available record matters. Even when a complete transaction history is missing, emails, wallet records, and receiving-exchange data may help reconstruct what happened.

⚡️Transaction proof: Screenshots👀 One of the most common questions I've been asked is: "What the Portuguese government accepts as proof for transactions?" The Portuguese government is asking for screenshots, but due to a limited understanding of cryptocurrency transactions, there is no further details on what screenshots. This gives you options. You can submit screenshots from crypto tax software, exchanges, or a block explorer. However, you'll need to accompany these with a detailed letter guiding the government on what they're looking at. ⚠️Altering screenshots using AI, or other tools, is illegal, so you should only provide original documents and act in good faith.

Sad but true
Europe is so cooked and it’s 100% the responsibility of its incompetent politicians. - regulated AI before having AI - energy cost highest in the world, you wouldn’t train a model there - France soon taxes internet traffic - Germany wants to tax AI revenue - not a single significant frontier lab, Mistral is a larp - those AI companies that Europe has are betting on regulatory moat, not on technical innovation, like GDPR-compliant AI, how inspiring Europe has some of the smartest researchers in the world. Every person who wants to innovate moves away as soon as they’re out of university so they can focus on building instead of dealing with this bullshit. It’s a literal giga brain drain. Boomer politicians have already destroyed the tech sector. They’ve messed up the internet boom, then the smart phone boom, now they’re doing it with AI. And they’re proud about it, you can’t make this shit up. What a travesty.
