BEFORE: PA relied on a deficient, subjective system to evaluate how well counties were providing protective services for older adults.
NOW: The Shapiro Admin. uses an all-new, modernized performance monitoring tool & it's already leading to REAL change. via @WJACTV

Last week, Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen sat down with health care leaders in Mifflin County for a roundtable conversation about Pennsylvania’s ongoing measles outbreak. Representatives from local hospitals, EMS, and the school district shared what they’re seeing in their communities, where public messaging could be clearer, and the challenges people are facing right now. Hearing directly from those on the front lines is essential as we work to strengthen and refine our public health response. Learn more: bit.ly/4ztfMYZ
Our incredible team at the @PAHealthDept has held more than 220 pop-up vaccination clinics statewide, administering 6K+ doses of the MMR vaccine.

Was there a last-minute skill games deal on the table before lawmakers left Harrisburg for the last time before the election?
House Majority Leader @RepBradford told reporters there was and Senate Republicans ultimately didn't follow through "because they don't have the votes."

Measles can be fatal.
Do you know its symptoms?
- Rash that starts on the face and spreads over the body
- Fever
- Cough
- Red and watery eyes
- Small white spots inside the cheeks
Seek health care if you suspect you or your child has measles.

WIC is a lifeline for women and children, not for bad actors to line their own pockets. My Administration does not tolerate any abuse of public programs that takes dollars from the people who need the help the most.
Our Department of Health referred these stores to the Office of Attorney General for criminal investigation in order to protect public dollars and ensure these resources are being used as they were intended. We’ll continue to prevent fraud, make appropriate referrals to law enforcement, and maintain the integrity of these programs.
Attorney General Dave Sunday announced charges against 11 Philadelphia-area business owners who were involved in a fraud scheme related to the Commonwealth’s WIC program, which supports low-income mothers and their children.
The charged individuals are alleged to have forged invoices and submitted them to the WIC program for reimbursements:

Getting Unemployment Compensation help 5 years ago?
☎️ Wait times were well over ONE HOUR, and you had to call 11+ TIMES before you got someone. 🤯
Under @GovernorShapiro - wait times are just 7 minutes, and you reach someone in less than 2 tries.
That's GSD. 💪🏼
Getting Pennsylvanians the help they need, when they need it.
Unemployment compensation (UC) call wait times now average just 7 minutes, and live chat responses average only 11 seconds.
That’s a big change from before @GovernorShapiro took office, when callers regularly waited more than an hour and often had to call multiple times to reach someone.
Less waiting. Better Service. Faster help.

Want the truth about measles? Listen to the doctors treating it.
Voices breaking as they describe suffering that did not have to happen. More than 165 hospitalizations and rising.
Their testimonials are the clearest answers to the fed’s rhetoric.

Incompetence is letting measles, a disease that was declared eliminated in 2000, reemerge.
Incompetence is spending your time promoting outright lies instead of urging people to get a vaccination that would protect them against this deadly disease.
Incompetence is denying the tragedy of four measles-associated deaths in Pennsylvania.
Incompetence is standing right behind you, Mr. President.
RFK, Jr. is saying the quiet part out loud
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told the vaccine-skeptic group Children's Health Defense on Thursday they have "a friend in the White House" in President Trump.

RFK Jr. continues to cast doubt on science, sow distrust and mislead the American public...and people are dying because of it.
In PA, Gov. Shapiro is relying on facts, expert insight and evidence-backed guidance as we battle the worst measles outbreak in 35 years.
In the midst of the largest and deadliest measles outbreak in America in 35 years, RFK Jr. chose to spend his time today addressing the premier vaccine-denial conference in America.
He needed to say one sentence: I urge all Americans to get the measles vaccine now to protect themselves and their families during this deadly outbreak.
Yet he couldn’t bring himself to do it. Instead, he pushed a narrative that continues to stoke fear and mistrust.

This is like warning people about seatbelt bruises during a discussion about fatal car crashes. Measles can cause pneumonia, brain swelling, permanent disability and death. The MMR vaccine usually causes a sore arm or fever. These are not equal risks.

.@GovernorShapiro: "Our public health system in this country is a disaster because of RFK. People can't trust the salad that they eat, the meat that they eat... we're seeing the spread of diseases that were once eliminated because of the manner in which this Administration in Washington is conducting itself."
