#PGMOL is becoming a major reason to hate @premierleague. But #PremierLeague doesn't seem to care for its brand.
Arsenal would have gotten a penalty for a shirt pull on Havertz when he was miles away from the ball. A similar incident involving a shirt pull on Isak happened last weekend when he was inches away from a goal-scoring opportunity, but VAR didn’t even review it. The inconsistency is absolutely staggering. #PGMOL #PremierLeague

Yes!!!
Last week, Andoni Iraola was a brilliant appointment. This week, he’s not up to the job. No point lurching between such extremes so early on in his tenure when a number of the players responsible for last season’s mess keep making the same mistakes. A long road ahead.

There are defeats that can be explained away by misfortune, and there are performances so wretched that excuses become an insult to the intelligence. #Liverpool’s 3-2 capitulation against #Fenerbahçe belongs emphatically in the latter category. This was embarrassing. A team assembled at enormous expense, blessed with international talent, somehow contrived to make struggling opposition look formidable. Thank you @eddiegibbs.
⚽️ Liverpool’s Turkish Humiliation Exposes Some Uncomfortable Truths Feberbache 3-2 #LFC There are defeats that can be explained away by misfortune, and there are performances so wretched that excuses become an insult to the intelligence. Liverpool’s 3-2 capitulation against Fenerbahçe belongs emphatically in the latter category. This was embarrassing. A team assembled at enormous expense, blessed with international talent, somehow contrived to make struggling opposition look formidable. Liverpool enjoyed 68% possession, attempted 22 shots and won 12 corners. Impressive figures for anyone fortunate enough to have missed the match. Those watching witnessed an alarming poverty of imagination, laborious possession and a disturbing inability to manufacture genuine danger. At the back, the defending bordered on the farcical. Twice Liverpool led, twice they surrendered their advantage within four minutes. Jacquet’s deflection, Alisson’s indecision and the collective failure to defend elementary crosses exposed a fragility that should trouble Andoni Iraola profoundly. His selection deserves scrutiny. Deploying Bradley Barcola through the middle was a failed experiment, and the extent of the rotation in such an unforgiving environment was questionable. Yet experienced professionals must shoulder responsibility for defending with such astonishing carelessness. The evening’s few redeeming features came from youth. Trey Nyoni scored his first senior goal and played with admirable conviction. Rio Ngumoha carried an attacking threat that his more celebrated colleagues seemed incapable of producing. There’s something deeply uncomfortable about teenagers providing the courage and ingenuity that established internationals cannot summon. Two consecutive defeats now, and increasingly troubling evidence of deficiencies at both ends of the pitch. Iraola has considerable work ahead of him. Liverpool’s supporters have every right to demand better. Because performances of this poverty are simply unacceptable.

#AndyMadley is #PGMOL's designate #Arsenal man. They send him the they want to cut teams that could stop Arsenal and Arsenal players know he is thier man too.
🚨Andy Madley is going viral for his refereeing decisions during Manchester United’s match vs Arsenal in 2025

😤How many cameras were there - and the VAR still couldn't see it?! Iraola admits he will have to start telling his players to "go down" 🎥 Watch Andoni Iraola's full post-match press conference on This Is Anfield's YouTube channel 📺

Congratulations, Arsenal. Resolute, resilient and remarkably disciplined, dug deep against everything thrown at them today. Liverpool, meanwhile, arguably produced their best performance of the season, & showing signs of progress in intensity, desire under Iraola - still need 1/2 upgrades specially in LB, but the football looks encouraging. Bit unlucky with a key penalty decision. Plenty of football remains to be played, and this season is far from over for either side. #LFC #AFC #LIVARS

Forty-eight touches in #Arsenal’s penalty area, zero shots on target. #Wirtz struck the crossbar, #MacAllister squandered an excellent opportunity, but the attacking combinations remain desperately poor. Passes behind runners, hesitant movement, dreadful timing. Extraordinary individual talent producing remarkably little collective threat.
⚽️ #LFC 0-1 Arsenal: Hope Returns, Reality Bites There was genuine optimism before kick-off. Five consecutive victories, attacking talent beginning to flourish and the possibility of dragging ourselves into a title race. By full-time, that optimism had been painfully extinguished. Arsenal came to Anfield, scored early through Kai Havertz following another costly error in Alisson’s distribution, and proceeded to suffocate the contest. Mikel Arteta’s football is a miserable spectacle, relentlessly cynical, calculated to frustrate and frequently assisted by refereeing that rewards every theatrical collapse. Andy Madley’s performance was dreadful. The failure of Stuart Attwell’s VAR to intervene when Jurrien Timber blatantly pulled Alexander Isak’s shirt was particularly galling. Liverpool must become considerably more streetwise in demanding decisions. Their reluctance to challenge officials is becoming costly. Yet Liverpool’s greater problem lies within. Forty-eight touches in Arsenal’s penalty area, zero shots on target. Wirtz struck the crossbar, Mac Allister squandered an excellent opportunity, but the attacking combinations remain desperately poor. Passes behind runners, hesitant movement, dreadful timing. Extraordinary individual talent producing remarkably little collective threat. Trey Nyoni offered composure and control in midfield. His withdrawal appeared to surrender Liverpool’s momentum, another reminder that adding attacking players rarely compensates for losing midfield balance. Arsenal defended superbly, however unappealing their methods. Liverpool simply lacked the invention to punish them. Defeats to Manchester City and Arsenal at Anfield have exposed the distance between Iraola’s developing side and genuine title contenders. A battle for Champions League qualification now looks considerably more realistic. Wednesday brings another European examination, and an opportunity to respond. For now, the disappointment is profound. We dared to believe again, and Liverpool have reminded us how much work remains.

The #PGMOL's incompetence & inconsistencies are beyond baffling. Whats the point of having a #VAR technology if not for these moments? #LIVARS @premierleague
❌ Two penalty shouts, neither given. The one on Isak surely had to be looked at?!
