IN 1993, I LAID ABTI’S FOUNDATION; TINUBU FORFEITED $460,000 IN THE U.S. — ATIKU
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s latest attack on his investment in education, describing it as a desperate attempt to distract Nigerians from the failure of his administration.
In a statement issued by the Director of Strategic Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said:
“Again, Bola Tinubu has told Nigerians why they should not allow him to continue as president after his first tenure. He also chose to question my investment in education and ask how I built an educational institution while serving as Vice President.
“The answer is simple: my investment in education predates my time in public service. In 1993, while a U.S. court ordered the forfeiture of funds in an account in your name, describing them as proceeds of narcotics trafficking or funds involved in unlawful financial transactions, I was laying the foundation for ABTI Academy. That Academy has since grown into the American University of Nigeria.
“That moment captures the difference between us. My history is traceable. I can show Nigerians how I built my name, achieved success in business and entered public leadership. Your own history remains clumsy and foggy. You cannot erase it by attacking my record in education.
“A president who has plunged the country into a crushing cost-of-living crisis has no business asking Nigerians for another mandate. The real conversation about the 2027 election is how to repair the damage your government has done.
“You say Nigeria cannot return to subsidy and must move forward. But you cannot even tell Nigerians where you are taking them. Forward into deeper poverty, mounting debt, insecurity and mass unemployment?
“Since your inauguration in 2023, your leadership has become synonymous with hardship, pain and despair. Your record is a working example of how a country should not be led. You have created poverty on an industrial scale, pushing more than 79 million Nigerians into extreme poverty.
“Your campaign’s Director-General says hungry Nigerians are simply lazy. He delivered that statement in grammar so badly constructed it could wake the dead. This government does not even believe Nigerians are hungry. How can you solve a problem you refuse to acknowledge?
Put 4 fulanies? Guy stick to asking stupid questions like must you eat rice?

Wasapapin, Leme, Albino Oil Sheikh and Gimba are doing Arewa for Asiwaju while Yoruba politicians are aligning with Northern Christians to weaken Northern voting strength in 2031. 🤣
Leme, hoping for a Ribadu presidency while working with people who hate Fulani. The irony! 😂

My analysis is based on the strategies the BAT is using asides the SW there's no zone he is is sure if winning but he has been trying to use SS/NC which are battlegrounds and in the NC he wants to align with chritian block in a region that Muslims have won 3 times a row
There's currently no CPC block in APC only anpp block shettima , yari learn politics before doing analysis CPC moved to ADC el rufai , malami

The CPC faction of APC was just so low IQ, even their fraud were transparent armed robberies, nothing institutional. They would never have gotten power without ACN, and with Buhari dead they won’t choose for 2031 either lol. Hope they invested their money because the only way they have a chance is to outspend the ACN in 2031, and ACN will even have more financial muscle.
Asides from that, from the current configuration of Nigeria, and the financial muscle of Lagos, I don’t see any power block from the North blackmailing the south to support them. It’s really over.
What exactly are you even saying ? Did NW and NE say they have problems you can't take sides on what exactly ?
This has sparked a lot of discussion, and deliberately so.
You gotta give Tinubu credit for knowing to make these conversations divisive.
I on the other, the conversation has left me sadly and oddly bereft.
It has me seriously doing several recalculations.
By origin, I'm a North-Easterner. A proud Jukun woman, and unapologetic of my heritage.
But North West is the home I know. The culture I know. The people I have grown to call "my people".
I can't take sides. And I won't.
There's no Farida without any of the other part.
I've been thinking deeply about this since it all began.
I traced it back to the fundamental reality before the current geopolitical reality; Africa was always tribal kingdoms.
It's the governance structure we foundationally functioned from.
Who are we as a nation and continent if we say our tribal heritage doesn't matter?
But also who do we want to be if we insist it's all that matters?
I've been on a long 9 year journey. Basically centered around identity. And on the other side of it, every aspect of my identity matters to me.
From my Jukun and Lebanese ancestry. To being Nigerian even though I still have no idea what that even means yet.
Being a woman.
Being a Muslim woman.
Being African.
A commitment I made to myself after the gruesome journey of facing all the failings that comes with each identity, was never to allow myself be in a position where I have to choose or apologise for any of it.
I don't know what's next for the North to be honest.
I wish these conversations didn't have to happen. But if I hadn't had the conversations I did with myself, I would never reach this place I am.
So these conversations are very necessary.
As such, this is what I've concluded:
I'm a bridge to whomever is open and ready to come to the table and talk, among the North Central leaders
As for North East, the ball is in your court how we proceed.
I want it clear:
I want and believe in one Arewa region; West, East, Central
But with everything coming forth, I won't push for anything anybody isn't willing to be committed to.
Ya Rabb, I entrust Arewa in Your Hands. Whatever You are incharge of, nobody can destroy.
Choose the best of outcomes for us.
What will be will be.
Lol Mumu ,there are more people from NW and NE in this photo than NC 🤣🤣
I so much love this visit by the middle belt leaders to Bola Osaze Tinubu.
It's now a case of since the hunter has learnt to shoot without missing, the bird has also learnt to fly without perching.
Politics of 2031 has already started, and if you want to have equal rights to demand, show workings.
The north isn't only made up of NW and NE alone....
The north will remember inshallah.....
