I strongly condemn the attack on the commercial vessel off Romania’s Black Sea coast, which carried Ukrainian and Azerbaijani crew members. This is not an isolated incident. Repeated attacks on civilian shipping are becoming a deeply troubling pattern, endangering innocent lives and threatening the security of our entire region.
My heartfelt condolences to the family of the sailor who lost their life. We wish the injured a swift recovery and hope those still missing will be found safe.
Moldova stands in solidarity with Romania, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. We thank the Romanian rescue teams for their efforts.
