The S24 Demo Day at @OrangeDAOxyz was a blast! Here are my highlights from the teams that presented: @AliciaJKeyes is building Apaluma, a unified API for government data. Think of it as Plaid for government data like weather, air quality, and water quality. Apaluma unlocks a massive amount of data for real-time ML applications, improving foundational models with untapped government data. @BRKTgg is the first mobile swipe-to-bet prediction market. They’re like the ‘McDonald's of Prediction Markets,’ focusing more on entertainment than investment. With a Tinder-like UX tailored for Gen Z, users can easily place bets like, "Will Billie Eilish release a new album before the end of 2024?” @ViggoRey is building @biofoundry_xyz, tokenizing biotech startup equity. Unlike software, even the best biotech companies often wait 10+ years to access public market liquidity. Biofoundry tackles this by bringing liquidity to early-stage biotech, positioning itself as the Coinbase of biotech startups. @Tyler_Sehr is building @cookbook_dev, a suite of tools accelerating protocol growth by onboarding developers. L2s and L1s are spending millions to 'acquire' developers to their ecosystems. Onboarding is the most crucial step in this 'funnel', and Cookbook reduces onboarding time from a week to just 1 hour. @levirybalov from @CoopHive is building Trading Floor for Autonomous Agents. Think of it as the 'TCP' for AI agent networks, enabling peer-to-peer and multi-node communication between AI agents to trade resources they control or own, such as GPUs, compute, storage, bandwidth, energy, and RWAs. @Philfog is building @Corkprotocol, Permissionless Credit Default Swaps for pegged assets. CDS are widely used in traditional finance for credit risk protection and trading. Cork is introducing this concept to the pegged assets of DeFi, starting with LSTs, LRTs, and expanding to stablecoins. joinmagic.ai is unlocking 90% of data to make AGI possible, allowing AI algorithms to train without accessing the data, prioritizing privacy through TEEs and an L1 for training data quality provenance. This is crucial for ML startups requiring sensitive data and LLMs seeking fresh data to improve their foundational models. @danielkiani is building @NoRampLabs to deliver a 10x better on-ramp experience. Crypto on-ramps struggle with a low 30% credit card acceptance rate due to over-reliance on the same backend under different wrappers. NoRamp boosts this to 99% with its novel data transmission layer. @nubilanetwork is the DePIN Network for hyper-local weather data, enabling insurance, agtech, and finance companies to make more accurate projections, leading to better decisions and profits. Nubila brings the sensor network to street level, instead of the city-level precision of web2 incumbents. @julrach from @otim_xyz is building software to move on-chain money automatically. Powered by EIP-7702, Otim executes pre-configured rules for smart contracts and EOAs without sharing private keys. This eliminates human points of failure in sequencers, DeFi vaults, and cross-chain protocols, where automation is vital for operational integrity. @0xsashamai from @risechain is building an Eth L2 with 100x performance. RISE is a based rollup tackling the needs of real-time on-chain applications by not just speeding up transactions, but also increasing the gas limit the chain can use. With gigagas—1 billion gas per second compute—RISE delivers 100x more compute power than the fastest L2 on Eth. @brianjckim is building @recessdotapp, Pokémon Go for memecoins. It’s a consumer app for Gen-Z to socialize and earn memecoins through geofencing. Local shops can tap into this trend by offering memecoins instead of old-school loyalty points. It also serves as a memecoin launchpad powered by geofencing. @DaKingLawson from @resolvcrypto is putting stolen crypto back in your wallet. Resolv wraps tokens into p-tokens, fully covered and restorable in case of a claim, managed by decentralized jurors. Unlike traditional insurance, Resolv doesn’t require paying premiums and provides full coverage for your tokens. @kaisekai_eth from @joinsekai is turning any story idea into an entire cinematic universe. Using a suite of generative models, Sekai creates interactive images, sounds, characters, and worlds from just a few sentences. They leverage @StoryProtocol to tokenize characters and worlds, making it easy to fork, add sequels, or explore 'what if' stories. teleport.ing is introducing a brand-new multiplayer web browsing experience. Unlike screen sharing, it lets you see each other’s icons and interact with websites together, much like using Figma live with others, interactively within your browser. Last but not least, @mheinrich is building @0G_labs, a decentralized AI OS tackling two major issues in centralized AI. First, it introduces a high-speed DA layer for real-time, trusted on-chain data (1Mx faster than Eth DA), solving the black-box problem in model data. Second, it enables decentralized inference and fine-tuning via OPML and ZKML, unlocking scalable, privacy-preserving AI.
