Hey so what Happened to Manners. My porch light is off because I could not afford candy this year and people (parents!) keep POUNDING on my door and one family just yelled “we know you’re in there” ?
The constitution in his header.
Tech socialism in his heart.
People crying over this are idiots. Clearly the RAM in a data center running full tilt 24/7/365 serving millions of people is better allocated than the RAM in your machine powering your Reddit browsing.

Sam Altman was specifically discussing local AI inference on personal computers versus cloud needs, not general use like web browsing. Cloud servers average ~13-22% memory utilization per analyses of major providers, not full tilt 24/7.

Can’t get past the name. Like mudwater.
what’s super interesting about this situation is seeing competitor neobanks jumping into the replies offering to host events, when some of these same companies can barely provide decent customer support, let alone go above and beyond for their clients.
on the other hand, you see our clients and friends publicly standing up for us because they know we would absolutely die for them. we will do everything in our power to make sure they never have to worry about their banking platform, and when things go wrong, we show up.
another thing worth mentioning is that I would never want to do business with someone who makes a habit of leaking private conversations the moment something doesn’t go their way, unless something genuinely absurd happened.
we go all out on our events, and I think it’s completely reasonable to prioritize co-hosting with businesses that actually bank with us, especially when we’re putting in the work and resources to make these events happen.
we have a ton of clients lined up who want to host events with us, and many of them have gone out of their way to support us publicly.
so here’s my question: if you were running a business, would you not prioritize the clients who would go to war for you over a potential partner who’s willing to expose private conversations the second they don’t get what they want?
relationships are a two-way street, and that’s exactly how we’ve built Slash into what it is today.
Nah shame’em. Tech is full of sleaze.
i can understand why silka saw this as a bait and switch…
but there’s no need to publicly shame slash over something so innocuous
especially given that’s its normal to expect co-hosts to vouch for each / be in biz together
slash are 100% relationship people and i’ve loved banking with them so far
@aryanpour @nickbruhman and the slash team make my life easier
if i have a support request, they reply within ten mins and i know they’ve got my back
i never got that level of support when i banked with mercury
i recommend everyone to bank with slash, and for boardy and slash to see past this nothing burger and be friends again 🤝

Hi! I think it's pretty reasonable to only want to co-host events with companies that work with us.
We put a lot of effort/money into events, and like using them as opportunities to help our clients do more business.
I'm sorry you felt the need to post private slacks on X. I don't think that reflects very well on you or your company :(
The way investors hang their hat on the results of their portfolio founders is legitimately disgusting.
