How is this "simply legal"? you are now showing that you are not just a bumbling captive audience but actively participating in these narratives erasing actual political history, you are selling these stories like a damn soap opera, anyway you got what you wanted, views.

I completely agree. Amin was a brutal dictator who caused immense suffering to Ugandans. I am not defending his crimes. But the point of the video is the geopolitics. The West turns him into a movie clown to distract from the fact that he humiliated the British Empire. We can condemn his domestic atrocities while still studying his anti-colonial defiance. Two things can be true.

The West wants you to remember Idi Amin as a buffoon in Hollywood movies. They never tell you he forced the British Foreign Secretary to fly to Uganda and beg him for a man's life. They never mention he made the British Empire cut ties and run. Watch this. They only call African leaders "mad" when they refuse to bow. 🇺🇬✊🏾

It has to be said the politics of Uganda are the politics of Christianity, the ugliness in personality, lack of taste, it's the plebian subject, the vessel made to be destroyed etc, the churches that colonised your grandparents made it so and up to today it is.

So you think our Sheila will lose sleep over a handshake with your dad! 😂 These Nepo sons don't think beyond tithe!
Again, this is tone-deaf! Why all the running away? You mocked my testimony, laughed at me, and now you’re running away? Like, legitimately running? Yes, we do! I taught the very one you use. But that doesn’t excuse your behavior or your statements. Again, X is keeping a record of everything. You cannot call my dad a joke and then turn around and expect to greet him as though nothing happened. This is the problem with people like you. You think you can say whatever you want about someone and then go about life behaving as though everything is perfectly fine. Now you’re playing the victim. My advice is simple: just stop. Walk away and leave this alone, because everything you’re saying and doing is a contradiction. After all of this, you now want to greet my parents in public? Life isn’t a REALITY TV SHOW! Actions have consequences. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. You cannot publicly disrespect people and then expect to be welcomed privately as though nothing happened. That’s not how life works.

One Ugandan, paid with money collected from Ugandans in various forms to run this country, and equipped with guns, uniforms and other gear purchased with Ugandans’ money, is using those resources to abduct and torture Ugandans, then gloating about how he will kill more Ugandans, torture them and make them disappear. Other Ugandans are saying, “Look, this Ugandan is a threat to us as Ugandans. He is destroying a fundamental part of our social contract, in which the people entrust a few individuals with the power to govern the country.” We must not forget that when this power is abused, Ugandans have the power to take it back. Fundamentally, power belongs to the people. The question to answer is not whether I used a phone line registered in my mother’s name rather than mine. That is merely a decoy. The real question is whether some Ugandans are considered more Ugandan than others. Are we saying that when some people’s opinions do not prevail, they must be abducted, tortured or killed? If anyone agrees with that, I would consider them a cabbage. Only a cabbage could think that way and find pleasure in abducting, torturing and killing fellow Ugandans. The past fortnight and a few days have been trying, but they have not broken me. Instead, they have strengthened my courage. I have drawn strength from your solidarity and support, which have encouraged me to believe that the future of this country is not as broken as we might imagine. There is still a flicker of hope, and if we find the right way to nurture it, our country will ultimately be set free. I reiterate, without fear, that Uganda is not a monarchy. The people of Uganda deserve a say in the transition of their country, and fear must never be used as a tool to silence them or shut them up, especially at a time when their voices matter most. I once again express my gratitude for your support. And I must say that, contrary to what they expected, **I will not go quiet. I will not keep silent. I will not flee into exile out of fear. I will stay until the very end.** We are going to defend this country, as provided for under Article 3 of our Constitution. When the Constitution is abused and the rule of law gives way to the rule of an individual, we have a constitutional duty to resist and defend our Constitution and our country. In doing so, we shall not be breaking the law; we shall be exercising our constitutional mandate. The struggle continues, and we shall prevail over fear. The demand remains: Arrest Muhoozi and free all political prisoners Thank you, comrades. Thank you, fellow Ugandans.
