Got to run Villago again this weekend ahead of the launch on Tuesday. I've had the adventure up on blocks over the last day streamlining and rebuilding. I'm very excited about what I'm going to be delivering.

I consulted with them back in the late 2000s when they were still the classic version of the studio that was committed to innovation and quality content. What's happened since then has been absolutely tragic. Anthem was truly the beginning of their end.
Great OSR adventure designs use mystery, discovery, exploration, and revelation to build connections around a central idea which reveals itself in a climactic battle or desperate escape.

Zephram Cohcrane's warp drive stunt is a waste of resources when the planet is still recovering from World War III.
What's really crazy is how much of European innovation was developed because of a well-funded class of idle clergy.
That's been transformed into a massive bureaucratic state that blunts innovation through regulation.

The reason people are so excited and impressed by Elon’s flying car, despite its impracticability, is that it’s one of the first times in recent memory of a physical innovation. Not another app, not another software, not another chatbot, a real three dimensional thing that changes how we interact with the physical world. I think this is what the irritation with tech has been for many “luddites” of late, it all seems to be pulling us into a screen. Whereas Elon’s invention seems to be finally doing the opposite. If you’re building things in the real world too, even if it’s paintings, cashmere sweaters, books or sculptures, you’ll appreciate this.
If your response to a genuine flying car is "akshually this isn't what the world needs right now" you were never a nerd to begin with.
You were just a colonizer of nerd spaces.
Ironic distance in roleplaying should happen at the table. If the core system doesn't take the world seriously no one else ever will.
Games Workshop can't adopt Space King's aesthetic because they are the source of Grimdark.
WOTC shouldn't be the one hosting the orc tea parties.
Despite being excellent for most of its first five seasons the collapse of Buffy starting in season six shows how corrosive ironic deconstruction can be to fantasy narratives over the long term.
"Kitten poker" was the death knell and it's infected almost every IP now.
