Last week, we had the chance to sit down with @SenatorDinniman and @RepBenninghoff to discuss #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth and the new legislature set forth to help our kids. Thank you to both congressmen for all that you do to help fight pediatric cancer! 🎗

As we continue to work together to stop the spread of this virus, it’s crucial that we support the development of treatments and therapies that will save lives and protect our residents, neighbors, and families. senatordinniman.com/dinniman…

On the 57th anniversary of MLK Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech, co-organized by local civil rights activist Bayard Rustin, we must acknowledge how much farther we have to go to advance equity in our communities and country. Black Lives Matter.

Some photos from the Community Paddle to Protect our Park at Marsh Creek this morning. Yesterday, we learned 10k+ gallons of biproduct were spilled into the lake from Mariner East. That’s why we’re calling to SHUT IT DOWN!

I am glad that all the trustees of Lincoln University, including those appointed by the Commonwealth, were allowed to participate in today’s meeting. As a result, a vote to continue negotiations on Dr. Allen’s contract was unanimously approved. 1/4

Still, I plan to move forward with legislation strengthening and clarifying that statute to ensure that there is no ambiguity whatsoever regarding the responsibility of all state-related universities to sit and include Commonwealth appointees. 4/4
As a supporter of Dr. Allen’s work and a state senator representing LU, I am pleased by today’s action. The fact that ultimately all the trustees came together in a unanimous vote to continue negotiations on Dr. Allen’s contract is a positive step forward for the university. 3/4
This is the way the meeting should have been conducted in the first place and it was clear that if the Commonwealth trustees were included back on July 10, the motion would have passed at that time. 2/4
The OIC helps hundreds each year prepare for employment and economic self-sufficiency. I recently had the honor of being recognized alongside OIC President and CEO Joyce Chester (right) and Dr. Teresa Powell, who serves as OIC Board Treasurer.
