So yeah, the expert ratings don't make any sense. They're assuming roughly a D +2 or D +3 national environment. That's inconsistent with pretty much all the current and historical evidence. While I'd never rule out a systematic polling error, that shouldn't be your baseline.

Sydney briefly turned into Gotham City when multiple sightings of a person dressed as Batman standing atop the Opera House were reported. According to local news, the caped crusader stood on the roof of the famous venue in honor of Batman Day, an annual worldwide tribute.

Youngstown, Portsmouth, and Eastern Ohio are union households that voted Democratic for decades. They didn't switch parties because their economic interests changed. They switched because they stopped believing anyone was paying attention to them. You can disagree with where that led. Understanding why it happened matters more than being surprised that it did.

Another very good forecast update for Democrats today. Now up 7.8 on the generic ballot or 8.6 on the likely-voter version. That is deeply into wave territory.

E-bikes are lifestyle upgrades.
Hands down a cargo e-bike has been my best SF purchase since covid. The freedom to ride by something and think, "oh lets stop there and get ice cream" or "oh hey that matcha place doesn't have a line right now" and be able to park for free right in front of it opens the door to 10,000 adventures with my kids that I will never forget. Get an angle-grinder resistant lock and bike insurance and you are golden.

Incredible story.
Alexander Zverev just won the US Open, in his speech, he didn’t talk about tactics or ranking points, he talked about walking out of a doctor’s office at age 4 after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and being told his life and sport would be “very, very limited.” His mother refused that script. “My son will be wherever he wants to be. This illness will not define us.” That single act of defiance, repeated over 25 years of insulin, early mornings, setbacks and doubt, produced a two-time Grand Slam champion. The most powerful limits are rarely the ones written in medical notes, they are the ones we quietly accept. Someone’s belief in you or your own refusal to accept a reduced version of your life, can change the entire trajectory. ❤️

Inbox: The Ohio State Medical Association PAC has endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy for governor. In other words, the political arm of Ohio’s physicians group chose Ramaswamy over Amy Acton, who is herself a physician.

I wish more Americans could wrap their heads around this. Amsterdam is easier to drive in than Atlanta -- despite far, far less road capacity -- because so FEW people have reason to drive cars there. Give people choices, and the whole city works better.
Which has better travel times for cars: Amsterdam or Atlanta? Remarkably, it's Amsterdam. There's a critical lesson here: it's possible to design great places for walking, biking, and transit that are also better for drivers. We just published a report on how.

Turns out everyone's safer when there's more people out riding bikes. Even people driving are safer, because they tend to behave better behind the wheel.
