Has #JohnLewis pulled their dreadful #Christmas ad?

John Lewis made a MASSIVE error and now rather than admit it they are doubling down.
It is terrible.
John Lewis hits back at criticism over worst ever Christmas advert as Piers Morgan slams it
The retailer defended the advert insisting it celebrates the true spirit of Christmas with a spokesperson saying gifting across generations can feel tricky and they hope Gloria’s story inspires everyone to choose something personal rather than cash under the slogan Don’t give up on giving.
Critics including Piers Morgan branded it possibly the worst advert he has ever seen and said it would actively dissuade him from going to John Lewis while others accused it of pandering to spoiled kids who show little interest in their grandmother and of making a social statement with some expressing frustration at the mixed race casting and what they see as DEI elements.
What did you think? and would it put you off shopping at @JohnLewisRetail ? or do you just not care?

Here's the brief Saatchi & Saatchi received for THAT Christmas ad.
"Make an effort to choose a thoughtful gift instead of just giving cash.
It creates a better connection with your family members."
How did they get it so woefully wrong?
The woman responsible for this year's appalling John Lewis ad is Anna Braithwaite, who has been head of JL marketing for just over a year.
We don't know what her politics are, but if she has children, she's clearly a terrible mother.
YouTube comments and other socials are blowing-up with critical comments over this already.
Taxi for Anna.
P45 in the morning.

Just gets worse John Lewis digging themselves deeper, claiming showing true spirit of Christmas & gifting across generations can be difficult. Nothing difficult about it spoilt brats rampage grandma's home don't get gifts. Pandering to their behaviour isn't true Christmas spirit

I showed my Dad the John Lewis Christmas ad - he's 84.
His response:
I thought the point of advertising was to get MORE customers

So Meghan and Harry claim they are addressing the EU parliament but the parliament is not sitting that day. They just keep on lying!!!!

The more I think about the #JohnLewis Christmas ad, the more I wonder if it's creators stopped to consider the feelings of Millions of Nans and Grandads, who are now deciding whether to spend their pensions on heat, food, or expensive Christmas presents for their grandchildren

I know I’m late to the party on this.. but.. what were they thinking?
It’s just an odd message.
🎄 JOHN LEWIS CHRISTMAS AD BRANDED "WORST EVER" 🎄
Two rude, entitled grandkids barge past their gran without a hug, then shake their cards looking for cash. Mum just shrugs and blames Granny.
On top of that, it's another ad that feels like it's ticking DEI diversity boxes just for the sake of it, rather than telling a story that makes you feel Christmas.
Piers Morgan called it "possibly the worst advert I've ever seen for anything." Sarah Vine said it was "almost impossible to watch."
What did everybody else think of it? Would it make you shop at John Lewis, or put you off? 👇

This ad is awful and I would ask everyone to go and look at the “Dog’s Trust Christmas ad – that’s one that’s worth looking at!!

Question
Do John Lewis actually know what the song they have used is about on the advert?
Seriously?
If you don’t
Research.
It is an abomination to use it at Christmas

It’s quite the accomplishment for John Lewis to release an Xmas advert that seems universally disliked! They’ve even turned the comments off YouTube.
