Weird that when a job is dominated by women there are no calls for equality in that field. In fact those women get very protective of it and actively try to keep men out.
"Today, the Big Five publishers are staffed almost entirely by women. According to the most recent data, more than 70 percent of staffers are women. More than 70 percent of editors are women. Even 70 percent of all interns are women. At the executive level, more than 60 percent of leaders are women. In 2026, American publishing looks like lululemon."

I took this photo from Palmer Trail at Garden of the Gods. It's nice being able to see the main garden trails from a higher vantage point. I must have walked up those steps dozens of times, but I've never seen it from this point of view surrounded by fall foliage. It's so beautiful.

Hard to say, but it was probably my assertion that Joseph Campbell's The Hero's Journey was not all that great as an outline for a story.
Although my claim that books can sell without having original commissioned artwork on the cover was pretty big, too.
So the Ukrainians actually hacked Starlink. They *were* using Starlink for offensive weapons and found some sort of workaround that was closed by a regular software update.
And now Zelenskyy is claiming that the "slowdown has stopped" even though Musk is now on-record as saying, explicitly, that the civilian grade Starlink system is still not authorized for weapons use?
Zelenskyy is so full of shit it's coming out of his ears
Correct.
Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be.
Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them.
Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week.
Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact.
Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia.
SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR.
That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell.
End of story.

You win by appealing to 2006 cool guy posturing cliches about media consumption and the audience who engages with it.
I mean, you don't, but at least you get to think you're above the lessers for a few minutes before you lose again.

I love when people who have never created anything or at most a few things 'art' decide to tell everyone what 'art' is.
I honestly could care less about the Malfoid discussion. But in the opinion of someone with lots of original books sitting on B&N shelves, 'it's not art' is one of the weakest arguments by assertion one can make.
If it fills the portion of the brain that people consume story, it's art.

I just added the 650-pg Yankee Republic omnibus as an add-on for $10. I have a bunch of extra copies from the original printing, and I'm selling them at cost (printing + free shipping)
THE FELIX TALES is very different from the original series, but you may enjoy my earlier work.

So it turns out that Ukraine's issues with Starlink were caused by Ukraine.
Starlink terminals disconnected at speeds above 160 KPH, as determined by the Starlink terminals internal GPS.
To get around this, Ukraine hacked the Starlink terminals to think they were stationary regardless of speed.
SpaceX figured this out, and updated the system software to detect excessive speed by seeing how rapidly the terminal switched from on satellite to another. This broke Ukraine's hack, and Starlink would no longer work at high speeds.
Ukraine was using Starlink in a way that violated the terms of service.
Starlink figured it out and stopped it.
