Gender identity ideology feels like vicious revenge for the social and political advances made by women over the last Century. It’s no coincidence that it appears just at the point women’s social parity with men was within sight. It’s already set us back decades.

Could the Conversion Therapy Bill eventually be used to ague that LGBTQI propaganda is attempting to convert straight kids gay? Maybe not now, but in a few years when the demographics have changed? When the civil service, the courts, the police and politicians have been replaced by those decended from cultures that deny homosexuals basic human rights? Is there anything in this legisation to prevent it being turned around on those who drafted it?

Ten years ago I wrote about my experience with my trans-identified daughter, who desisted. If the Conversion Practices Bill goes ahead, much of what I did & said back then would be criminalised.

Good article, glad it is not being forgotten that schools are still a mess of TQ+ grooming.
But actually @Telegraph, schools aren’t ’dragging pupils into the trans debate”, they are conducting unlawful political indoctrination, according to ss406/407 Education Act ‘96. People need to get sacked for this malpractice.

What if last night was the best thing that could have happened to us?
I know how that sounds. Democrats just took the House and the Senate. Texas went blue. Everyone on our side is depressed this morning. But step back and look at the longer game, because I think we might be living through the beginning of a renaissance.
History has a pattern. When a party wins big, it confuses a protest vote with a mandate. And that's exactly where it starts making mistakes.
1994: Republicans sweep Congress. They overplay their hand, shut down the government, and hand Clinton a comfortable reelection two years later. 1998: they push impeachment against public opinion and lose seats in a midterm they should have won. Victory breeds arrogance. Arrogance breeds overreach. Overreach breeds backlash.
Now look at what Democrats are walking into. They control Congress, but not the White House. They can't really govern. They can block, investigate, subpoena, and posture. For two years, their entire identity will be opposition. Endless hearings. Impeachment fantasies. Shutdown brinkmanship. Purity tests from their activist wing, emboldened by a win they'll believe was ideological when it was mostly a midterm reflex.
And every one of those moves will be on full display, in front of voters who just gave them a chance and will expect results.
That's the setup for 2028. Not a narrow win. A clean one. White House, House, Senate. Full power, with a clear mandate and two years of Democratic overreach as the backdrop.
And this time, full power has to mean something different. Not just holding office. Building.
What I believe we need is a techno-republic. A state that runs like the best companies do: fast, measurable, accountable. Where public services are rebuilt from first principles with the best technology available. Where talent and merit matter more than credentials and connections. Where we stop managing decline and start building again: energy, industry, infrastructure, AI, space.
Because the stakes are civilizational. The West has spent decades losing confidence in itself. Its institutions hollowed out, its elites ashamed of its own history, its universities captured by an alliance between the radical left and political Islamism that sees Western values as something to dismantle rather than defend. Free speech, secularism, equality before the law, the idea that a civilization has the right to exist and to defend itself. None of that survives on autopilot.
A techno-republic is how we rebuild that foundation. Not through nostalgia, but through competence. Prove that a free, confident, technologically ambitious West works better than any alternative, and the debate is over.
So yes, last night hurt. But maybe this is the detour that gets us there faster. Let them win this round. Let them show the country who they really are. And be ready.
The renaissance won't come from comfort. It'll come from the moment we stopped being comfortable.
Today, I'm sad. For Texas, for this blue wave. But if Elon taught us anything, it's that losing a round means nothing. Here's why I'm not worried.
Texas sending a Democrat to the Senate for the first time in decades. The Senate and the House flipping. No point lying to ourselves: this is a real defeat.
But a defeat is not the end. They won a battle. We haven't lost the war.
Politics moves in cycles. Midterms almost always punish the party in power. What matters isn't one election night, it's the trajectory over ten, twenty, thirty years.
So look at the situation as it is. No denial, no panic. Understand what didn't work, what needs to change, and move forward.
The only real danger today isn't the result. It's losing your optimism. Discouragement does more damage than any electoral loss ever could.
Look at Elon. Every time the world declared him finished, he came back stronger. Rockets exploded, companies nearly went under, everyone bet against him. I have zero doubt he's the one who wins in the end.
As Corneille wrote: "To conquer without risk is to triumph without glory." If victory were easy, it wouldn't mean anything.
Keep your spirits up. Keep playing. Keep fighting on every front: ideas, culture, tech, the ground game.
Stay focused on victory. It won't come overnight. It will take time to build. But it will last, and it will be beautiful.
We get back up. We keep going.

I don't think it's the end, but certainly it looks grim at the moment. This year has been a culmination of a very heavy, destabilising period in which old structures that were no longer working, rotten to the core, had to fall. People still can work together to build something better. So it is up to us, whether we let emotional instability, violence, fear, to rule us - in which case the destruction will continue - or if we'll try to regain emotional stability in the face of adversity, and use discernment to work together with a common, better goal in mind.

FWS shouldn’t have had to either! It’s disgusting. Ordinary women gave up their already limited free time to fight to clarify rights we already had.

The Democrats have done well in the US midterms, and I’m being assailed by messages from progressives, some of them friends, expecting me to share their joy.
Well, I don’t.
As I’ve said before, I’m no fan of Trump, either as a man or in his style of politics. And I used to be firmly on the Democratic side. I saw the Democrats as the sane party, the decent party.
But the truth is that, in my view, the more power the Democrats acquire, the more children will be harmed by gender ideology and the more women’s sex-based rights will be subordinated to the demands of men who claim to be women.
For me, it comes down to the thought of just one vulnerable child. Perhaps an autistic teenage girl, struggling with her identity, being told she’ll somehow be happier if she takes puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and perhaps even undergoes surgery to remove healthy body parts or reconfigure her genitals using techniques that would make Frankenstein blush.
It makes me feel sick.
And I cannot understand how people can enthusiastically support politicians who promote these medical interventions for vulnerable children.
When I raised these concerns with one jubilant friend, their response was: ‘That’s just one issue.’
One issue.
How does somebody perform the moral gymnastics required to dismiss the needless harm being done to vulnerable children as merely ‘one issue’?
For me, that response speaks volumes about what the modern Left has become. The willingness to overlook something so profoundly troubling because it conflicts with a wider political allegiance is extraordinary.
It reminds me of the saying attributed to Voltaire:
‘Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.’
And I increasingly wonder whether we’re witnessing precisely that phenomenon.
For me, the more power progressives acquire, the greater the risk that more children will suffer irreversible harm. It’s that simple.
So no, I’m not sharing the joy this morning.
I hope the Democratic Party eventually finds its way back to being the party I once admired. And I hope America’s future is shaped by politicians who put biological reality, women’s rights and the safeguarding of children ahead of ideology.
Because those things should never have become partisan issues in the first place.

Dan Stillitz for the City of London just said in court that if the City has to provide the women and men's ponds as single sex ponds the likely upshot is that it won't provide separate sex ponds at all.
Replying to @tribunaltweets
must change it is likely that the Ponds will become fully mixed, and the LP will cease to exist. The Cs have said they don't have a preference but not true, look at letter before action. It says 'confirm the policy withdrawn', 'statement on line, will comply with FWS and operate

There is no such thing as a 'trans child'.
If left alone children will grow out of this idiocy.
We made this crap up in 2013 when the Fake-News DSM 5 was published.
And if children persist in thinking they are living in the 'wrong body', then the responsible and humane thing to do is teach them how to reconcile themselves with their bodies and how to manage (and live with) their distress.
That is life.
That is part of the human condition.
Not everything can be 'fixed'.
And certainly not by lying to impressionable and vulnerable children who are most likely dealing with other adverse events in their lives.
We do not prop one lie up with another even bigger, stupider and more dangerous one.
Yours.

All four states that had single-sex school sports initiatives on the ballot have (almost certainly) passed them! Washington, Nebraska, Colorado and Arizona voters came out to support and protect GIRLS tonight.
We've said all along that if the American people were allowed to decide, girls would get their own sports and locker rooms back. The politicians who put these policies in place did so without the public ever knowing. They never spoke for us.
Thanks to @MaineGirlDads, this is going to be on the ballot here in Maine next year, and I look forward to casting my vote in support of girls!

It's outrageous that Sex Matters has anything to do with this, the @EHRC should be doing it. Seriously, what is it for?
Perhaps we can make Sex Matters the government regulator for issues around sex based rights and leave the ECHR for made up race grievance nonsense. We'll give @MForstater the £90k salary instead.

Judging by the tone-deaf government statement here, the pushback against the conversion practices bill has caught them by surprise. I wonder how long it will take for No 10 to register that continuing to repeat debunked lines about how ordinary parents aren't at risk of criminalisation simply won't cut it?
A proposed law banning conversion practices could put parents at risk of prosecution for questioning their children about their gender identity, MPs, peers and experts have warned.
The legislation would introduce prison sentences of up to five years for attempts to suppress or change someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity.

Essential thread. Tl;dr: the draft Bill would threaten loving parents with imprisonment for trying to protect their children from harm, and trigger a cascade of social services intervention that may result in care proceedings even if no offence is ultimately proved.
1/ Akua Reindorf KC and former EHRC chair Baroness Falkner (ARKC & BF) have just, frankly, shredded the draft conversion bill with a particular focus on what a poor quality piece of law it is.

Thank you @KemiBadenoch
But you should know by now that gender ideology is not a "silly fad".
It is a systematic attempt to subvert reality, to deny what it means to be human and to destroy the normal functioning of society.
We are in an emergency.
You cannot tinker at the edges.
It all needs to be destroyed.
Nurses like Sandie should be allowed to do their job caring for patients, not subjected to witch hunts for defending their basic rights to privacy and dignity.
This ruling on her union’s failures to support her (not about single-sex spaces where she has already won) is disapppointing but takes nothing away from Sandie’s courage in standing up not just for herself but for women’s rights.
The usual suspects will twist the outcome to attack her after what she’s been through but she is braver and better than them.
Either way, the next Conservative government will put a stop to this nonsense. The NHS should support its nurses, and regulators should focus on what actually matters: professional standards and patient safety not silly fads.

The distinction isn't between 'trans' and 'cis'. It's between men who want to force their way into spaces where women and girls are vulnerable, and those who don't. The former, as any nine-year-old can understand, are far more likely to be a danger to women than the men who accept that women's safety, dignity and privacy means they should stay out of those spaces. The distinction isn't between men who claim to be women and those who don't, it's the difference between men who respect women's boundaries - trans-identified or not - and those who don't. As the old saying goes, 'good men stay out so bad men stand out.'
