Pendle PT is a zero coupon bond living on-chain. Most trackers price it like a normal token.
The result: a phantom loss on day one, months of flat PnL, then a jump at maturity that never economically happened.

More active books, more sophisticated allocators, more operational complexity.

The problem isn't vaults. It's that we shipped the product layer and skipped the control layer.
In a fund: mandate, independent risk, custody separation, admin strikes NAV. Four functions, four parties.
In a vault: all four collapsed into the curator, and the only visible metric is trailing APR.
So the market prices yield and can't price risk. The cheap audits and the reaching for yield are downstream of that, not the cause.
Just stop using vaults.
Incentives are misaligned:
1. Curators are incentivized to take more risk to show higher APRs. In order to do so, curators have third party dependencies to tokens they don’t control, who face the same problems (2) and (3).
2. Teams are looking for the cheapest possible audits to make the vault cash flow positive. Adversely selecting the worst auditors.
3. Auditors have no skin in the game, so they just act like rubber stamps you pay for.
