Thwaites is a runaway climate disaster. New studies show how. Melt from the "Doomsday Glacier" could drown coastlines around the world. And the outlook is getting even worse. ehsciences.emlnk9.com/lt.php…

🚨 URGENT: @the_andrey_x is in very bad shape. He has a concussion and lost consciousness several times while being detained. Settlers blocked the ambulance from evacuating him. He is now being held ALONE in the ambulance inside the settlement and is being denied transfer to a hospital.
HAPPENING NOW🚨🚨: @the_andrey_x @infinite_jaz and I were attacked by settler-terrorists in Umm al-Khair!! They beat us, threatened to shoot us, stole Andrey's phone and my glasses and pepper-sprayed Jasper.

We can blame the top 1% who contribute 17% to the global GHG emissions. On the other hand, it's worth noting that the next 49% contribute 75% of the net global GHGs. It's the bottom 50% who are getting fucked by pretty much anyone who can read this post.

More of this. Throw the historic out. We need completely new leadership in this country. Entirely new politics coming. MORE.
Twelve former US officials who resigned over Gaza are calling on 2028 presidential candidates to pledge not to hire Biden administration officials who were "architects" of its support for Israel's genocide in Gaza. The pledge asks candidates to: ➤ Acknowledge US "complicity" in the genocide through arms, funding and diplomatic support ➤ Bar any past or present political appointee who was "an architect, leader, defender, or key enabler" of that policy Signatories, including former State Department officials Josh Paul and Annelle Sheline, say those officials are "white-washing their own roles" and seeking "a path back into the halls of power."
FUCK ISRAEL. FUCK POLITICAL INTIMIDATION. AND FUCK THE IDEA THAT AMERICANS MUST BOW TO A FOREIGN STATE. Thank you for sharing my story and for your support. Now I want some answers. WHY HAS THE INDIVIDUAL WHO REPORTED ME BEEN GRANTED THE PRIVILEGE OF ANONYMITY WHILE I WAS PUBLICLY ARRESTED FOR EXERCISING MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS? I flipped someone off and did some cursing. That's it. No violence. No threats. No crime. And yet I got arrested. Since when does offending an Israeli citizen justify dragging an American citizen into police custody? WHO DECIDED THAT MY FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS WERE LESS IMPORTANT THAN AN ISRAELI'S OFFENDED FEELINGS? I will not apologize for opposing Israel's government, its occupation, its military actions, or the American politicians who bankroll them. I don't take orders from Israel. I don't bow to its apologists. And I certainly won't surrender my constitutional rights to spare anyone's feelings. FUCK ISRAEL'S GOVERNMENT. FREE PALESTINE. AND KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS.
This is Matthew Arndt, a Green Party candidate from Wisconsin. He was arrested for flipping off a zionist, but they couldn't charge him with anything, of course, because he did nothing illegal. I hope he gets elected! Vote for him if you're in his district!

Gaza is under random gunfire right now. We don’t understand what is happening here. Gunfire is literally everywhere. Tanks and military bulldozers are firing randomly at tents and homes, while aircraft are flying extremely low, making terrifying sounds that are impossible to describe. Don’t stop talking about Gaza. Don’t let the world become numb to what is happening here.

The hard truth is that my identity depends upon somebody else always being beneath me, for me to find a way to lift them up beyond me, and send them into the world greater than they ever thought they could be.
If there's one thing the closure of @bioware has taught me, it's that the majority of racists are straight, white males from low income brackets with low educations who are pissed off because they couldn't win a race that was literally rigged in their favor from being born straight, white males. And if they don't have somebody to blame, eventually they'd have to admit that the person responsible for most of their problems stares back at them in the mirror every morning. But they'll spend more time obsessing over immigrants, blacks, gays, and DEI "agendas" than they ever have trying to improve their own lives. An immigrant didn't blow your paycheck at the bar. A gay couple didn't get your truck repoed. A trans kid didn't make you drop out of high school, lose your job, and get divorced. A black family didn't keep you from learning a trade, showing up to work, or acting like a decent human being. YOU did that. All by yourself. So when you're standing there screaming that everybody else is getting special treatment, maybe ask yourself why you're getting lapped by people who had to climb over fences that you never even saw. Racism isn't strength. It's what insecure people wrap themselves in when they don't have accomplishments to brag about. Homophobia isn't toughness. It's fear wearing work boots. And all that DEI whining is just you saying "I'm too scared to compete" when everyone else finally gets their fair shot. The hard truth is that if your identity depends upon somebody else staying beneath you, you never stood very tall in the first place. Quit blaming minorities for your misery. Quit blaming LGBTQ+ folks because your life's a train wreck. Quit looking for scapegoats and just grab a mirror. Because that reflection has cost you more opportunities than every immigrant, every pride parade, every DEI program, and every person of color combined.

Police will be like "you can't ride a bike without a light, it's unsafe," and then murder you.
Eric Wayne Baker was traffic-stopped by Phoenix PD for riding a bicycle without a front light, assaulted during rough arrest, tasered multiple times and restrained until he died during arrest. Eric Wayne Baker Age: 52 Gender: Male Race: White Date: 04/04/2026 Location: Buena Apartments, 1400 block of W. Dobson Road / University Drive and Dobson Road City: Mesa County: Maricopa State: Arizona Agency: Mesa Police Department Officer(s): Not Disclosed Cause of Death: Taser Event: Died after police foot pursuit, physical restraint and multiple Taser deployments during traffic stop for riding bicycle without front light On 04/04/2026 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Mesa Police Department officers saw 52-year-old Eric Wayne Baker riding a bicycle near University Drive and Dobson Road. Police said the bicycle lacked a required front light. Officers activated emergency lights and sirens, and Baker continued west on University Drive before entering the Buena Apartments. Two officers pursued him on foot while a third drove around the complex. Baker crashed his bicycle onto a concrete walkway. Police said Baker pulled away, would not give officers his hands, attempted to get up and kicked at officers as they tried to arrest him. During the approximately one-minute-and-35-second struggle, officers physically struck Baker and deployed Tasers multiple times. Three officers eventually handcuffed him. Police also learned Baker had an active felony warrant related to a probation revocation. Bystander video presents a disputed view of the struggle. The recording shows three officers restraining Baker on the ground. Baker's face appears bloodied, and he can repeatedly be heard saying that he cannot breathe. A witness told ABC15 that Baker was not fighting officers but was pleading for help. Baker's daughter, Charlee Baker, later disputed the police account that her father assaulted an officer. Police said approximately 45 seconds after Baker was handcuffed, officers moved him onto his side. About 40 seconds later they requested an expedited medical response. Police said Baker continued yelling, kicking and moving on the ground, and responding medical personnel were initially unable to obtain his vital signs because of his movement. Baker was placed in an ambulance for transport to a hospital. He became unresponsive during transport. Resuscitation efforts were begun, but he died. Baker's family retained civil-rights attorney Benjamin Taylor and questioned the amount of force used during an encounter that began with a bicycle-light violation. Three months after Baker's death, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's autopsy findings had still not been released. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office currently lists Baker's in-custody death investigation as “Awaiting submittal,” with Mesa Police Department as the investigating agency. The three involved officers were placed on 40 hours of critical-incident leave and later returned to duty. Mesa Police did not refer the death to an outside agency, stating that it did not meet the East Valley Critical Incident Response Team's criteria. The department's Critical Incident Review Board, including Internal Affairs and Training Division personnel, is reviewing the incident. Weapon(s): None reported. “Two of our terrorists were killed, so we’re gonna destroy entire city blocks and make completely unrelated people homeless” I don’t think most Israelis understand just how deranged that sounds to the rest of the world
A war is coming to the West Bank Yesterday Palestinian resistance fighters conducted a surgical strike against Israeli occupation soldiers, fully in accordance with international law. In response, Israeli government immediately announced that they will do war crimes and started doing war crimes. All the Palestinian villages in the West Bank are under siege, the city of Hebron is under siege. IDF is demolishing house after house, raiding family after family. They said they want to turn Hebron into Rafah. More than 250 families were kicked out into the streets with nothing. People slept on the street last night. The Israeli election is in 3 days, and the Netanyahu-Smotrich government is going to use this to start a war in the West Bank. The only way to stop this is pressure from all directions. We know it works. International pressure worked for the besieged house in Qusra, which still belongs to the Palestinians because of the all-around attention. It can work for Hebron too. But it will require EVERYONE reading this doing everything they can to stop this. Call your representative, hold a demonstration, organise direct action against the occupation’s assets abroad. Keep attention on the West Bank. ACT NOW.

The middle class was a 50-year fluke designed to stop communism during the Cold War. The threat is gone, so the elites are taking it apart. You're not falling behind. You're being pushed back into peasantry.

This is how you can find hidden cameras (even the ones without lenses) with a few light flashes. Researchers came up with a surprisingly effective method they call Eye of Sauron. Just rapidly switch the lights in a room on and off. When the scene changes abruptly, a camera’s codec has to re-encode a lot of new data, which spikes electromagnetic emissions from its memory controller. If you sync the flashes with an EMI scanner, you can pick up this signature and locate the camera - even pinhole ones that only record to an SD card or stream over a cable. In their experiment with 50 different camera models, every single one was detected after just four scene changes. Some were found more than 20 meters away and even through walls. Detection range reached ~30 m for plastic-cased cameras and ~11 m for metal ones (far better than typical commercial detectors that only work at 1–2 meters). The whole scan took between 4 and 32 seconds depending on room size. The method nicely complements classic RF scanning and looking for lens reflections. They also used radio-astronomy filtering techniques to cut through the usual household noise (phones, routers, kettles, etc.).

In 1324, Mansa Musa of Mali made a pilgrimage to Mecca. He traveled with 60,000 people and 100 camel-loads of gold. He gave away so much gold in Cairo that he collapsed the regional gold market for a decade. A decade. From generosity on a journey. His empire covered more territory than Western Europe. His capital, Niani, was a center of scholarship, trade, and governance sophisticated enough that visiting Arab historians wrote about it with undisguised admiration. This was not a primitive society waiting for civilization to arrive. This was a civilization. One of the great ones. By any measure that wasn’t specifically designed to exclude it. The colonizers who arrived in West Africa centuries later did not bring civilization to a void. They dismantled something that was already there. The textbooks that don’t mention Mansa Musa at all, not once, not a paragraph, are not gaps in education. They are a decision. Made deliberately. Maintained consistently. Because his existence changes the sentence.
