Binance dropped XMR in 2024; Kraken dropped it in the EEA. Monero kept producing a block every 2 minutes. Trading moved to no-KYC swaps and P2P markets like Bisq and Haveno.
A delisting is a venue decision, not a death sentence.

this is the "superior privacy alternative" that influencers are trying to dump on you. if a chain lets surveillance firms tag half its lifetime volume, the privacy thesis is officially dead on arrival.
optional privacy was never built to protect the user; it was built to appease regulators and keep compliance dashboards happy.

and how did it work? people saw the giant red "remote host identification has changed" warning, shrugged, hit accept anyway, and handed over their root passwords and server shells to an ebury backdoor botnet.
tor can hide your ip, but it can't fix users actively bypassing the loudest cryptographic warning in terminal history.
anonymity at layer 3 doesn't save you if you let an unknown exit node act as your ssh man-in-the-middle because you got tired of typing ssh-keygen -R.

You are vulnerable, but GrapheneOS will KILL ITSELF preemptively to stop hackers from accessing their Forum.
With the recent php2shell incident, the GOS team took the safest way possible to protect the users. They didn't take any chances when the PHP security team published a warning, they had 3 options:
1. Run their forum and cross fingers that the vulnerability will not be exploited before the patch is shipped.
2. Try to patch it on their own with duct tape and dreams.
3. SHUT OFF the service and remove the attack surface.
They chose the safest option.
For such a non-essential service like a forum, the 3rd option seems like overkill.But the GOS team has always highlighted the importance of security update frequency. Because of advances in AI and hackers' ability to create malicious code in hours to exploit the most recently discovered vulnerabilities, speed is important.
That's why they don't support devices and apps that don't ship security updates as frequently as possible.
Attackers won't wait for you to patch.
Improve your OpSec before it's too late.
