FLASHBACK: Former Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpelès posted photos of a spy implant inside a Ledger on September 16. For weeks, almost nobody paid attention. Then wallets started getting drained. Ledger has now confirmed covert implants in some devices sold through CryptoBilis. He was warning about the exact attack vector before the market cared.

I've been saying the Bitcoin monoculture is dead for a while now. Bitcoin Amsterdam put me on a panel that asks if that's a good thing. With @danheld @coryswan @Matyas44Cook. Thu 5 Nov, 13:00 Day after I get 15 minutes on my own to talk about the Chaos Gap. The printing press took 300 years to settle and we're not even 20 years into this one. Fri 6 Nov, 14:45 Both on the Treasury Stage @bitcoinconfams

Media is talking less about quantum threats. But companies in the crypto industry are starting to talk more about it now. Do with that information what you will.

Digital asset narratives move across articles, X posts, transcripts and research at the same time. Each channel carries one part of the story. The useful signal lives in how those parts connect. Topology is Perception's live map of how the crypto conversation connects. Topology organizes the entities appearing in current stories, then draws a line when two entities are covered together. Select Bitcoin, payments, the Federal Reserve or any other active entity and the graph reveals the narratives and sources around it. For communications teams, the practical use is a map of which entities are appearing in each conversation, which associations are forming and where the evidence came from. See the whole conversation. app.perception.to/

🔴 BITCOIN HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM 🔴 We checked 210 accounts that cover it for a living. Marketers, executives, investors, traders, analysts, coders. A full year of X posts during a down market. We could NOT find the bears. Someone should probably look into that.

Nice to see SB featuring this awesome @BTCPerception chart!
NEW: AI-linked hacking is rapidly catching up to social engineering in digital-asset security. A year ago, AI-linked hack records were just 12% as large. Now they’re at 82%. Security discussion is moving back toward code.

The digital asset discourse used to live in a thousand separate feeds. I'm wiring companies, people, products, and protocols into one graph that's ALIVE. Who's talking about whom. How a story jumps sectors. The whole conversation in one place. Moving.

Perception is Elite.
Conference panels are forgotten the second they end. Now they’re a channel you can search year by year. With timestamps.

So I use the @BTCPerception MCP to go through everything that has been said or covered regarding Bitcoin for each date going back to 2011. And I have it so it's programmed to send me an email whenever it finds predictions or statements done years ago that aged horribly. What's funny is through this system I have realized how much of these FUD pieces that were so clearly wrong about Bitcoin has actually been deleted by a lot of media outlets! In this example there's a 2017 article that Reuters published about Jamie Dimon saying Bitcoin is a fraud and when I click on the article today to see the article... I just get redirected to the main front page of Reuters. It's crazy, I almost see this every single day. There are SO MANY media outlets across the entire media landscape who just have gone and deleted all the bad Bitcoin takes that they've had.

Always interesting to watch how a story actually travels since we’re deep in dead internet territory now. The only useful filter high-signal accounts. This @Liquid_BTC example is a clean visual of that.

So @Kalshi had 568 mentions over the last 30 days. CME Group had 352. Cboe had 79. Those mentions are interesting because most media coverage still treats Kalshi like a prediction market. Their product now spans event contracts, perps, professional tooling, institutional access and Nasdaq market surveillance. And mentions on @BTCPerception jumped 74% in the latest period about those new categories. Looks like the media is a few months behind the company here.

Looks like the entire industry mood started to shift positively already from August 9-12. Price didn't follow until August 17. Data: @BTCPerception

Hut 8 stock fell four straight weeks. The Internet is still running the "struggling miner" story but @Hut8Corp's AI transition is already priced in by analysts. Read: The narrative has NOT caught up. That gap is a leading indicator. Watch this.

"The Bitcoin Canary" That's this week's @BTCPerception newsletter. Since the news of the Coldcard exploit is slowly fading from the collective memory of the Bitcoin community, I thought it was a good time to look into the narrative data. And it's a bit grim to be honest with you.

Iterating on the @BTCPerception app design. Really like how you can see what regions of the world is being talked about in real-time alongside what's trending.
