The positive results for the Greens and Lib Dems and the reaction to @WEP_UK in the areas where we ran active campaigns show quite clearly that Labour’s offer alone isn’t compelling enough for progressive voters. Time to abandon tribalism and embrace collaboration and pluralism.

Just when you think the absurdity of victim blaming could not possibly go any further, here is a Police Commissioner openly blaming Sarah Everard for what happened to her on BBC radio bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-yo… #FixTheSystemNotTheWomen
A very valuable, thought - provoking thread.

The question for London Mayoral candidates: what will you do to end violence against women and girls? This is supposed to be “top priority” or so politicians claim. Labour, Cons, LibDems, Greens, @WEP_UK invited. Literally only 1 Mayoral candidate bothered to turn up, @ManduReid

"really strong feelings" might be the most bitterly hideous understatement I've heard in a long time.
🎙Commissioner Cressida Dick: All my thoughts and prayers are with Sarah’s family and her loved ones.
I do appeal to people to express their sadness and their solidarity and their really strong feelings about women’s safety in other ways.

Deeply upsetting scenes unfolding in Clapham. The @MayorofLondon and @metpoliceuk have completely misjudged and mishandled this - their silence so far compounds my disbelief. To see violence and chaos when all we wanted was to grieve and honour those we’ve lost is beyond painful.

Tonight in Clapham we witnessed the Met police arresting and pushing to the ground women who had come to grieve and protest the murder of our sister by one of their officers. I am shaking and furious. #ReclaimTheseStreets
