Gina Hinojosa rejects progressivism
It’s about culture wars that keep us divided
It doesn’t meet the moment.
The moment is about putting economic power back with the people & away from the tech giants who control the system.
This contentious interchange between the NY Times and @GinaHinojosaTX was truly amazing. Hinojosa offered one of the best explanations of populism I've ever seen. Her comments were a total rejection of Corporate Dems' neoliberal formula. Her Texas victory is a game changer.

🇺🇸 Flash floods are tearing through the U.S. Southwest, and millions of people are now under threat
Fast-moving water has hit towns from Arizona all the way up to Colorado, forcing people out of their homes and shutting down highways.
The same storms that flooded Las Vegas over the weekend are still not done with the region.
Stay safe out there, Southwest.

Yes money is a human construct Yuval, it's also acts as a claim on energy in particular fossil fuel energy, in the present and future. There's no other form of energy that’s as energy dense and portable, sadly fossil fuels are diminishing fast.

Money only exists in our collective imagination as a fiction made from words. We can make more money and we can make less money, but we cannot buy more time.

Homes flooded, cars written off and heartbreaking losses for the people affected. Many will struggle to get insured again, if they can afford it.

Breaking News!
Code: UFB!!!
On October 29, 2026, the 4-year running average for the global surface temperature anomaly hit 1.500°C above the 1850-1900 IPCC pre-industrial baseline (Copernicus data).
Next up: the 5-year running average.

AI companies are in trouble.
Their trouble is inside a crisis.
Their crisis is inside a disaster.
And the disaster is inside a black hole.
A trillion-dollar black hole.
Meanwhile, the elites are celebrating.
“AI WILL REPLACE HUMANITY, FINALLY!”
But first, can AI companies replace their own disappearing cash?
They promise universal basic income.
Perhaps they should first generate their own income.
Because the numbers are brutal.
And the devil has learned accounting.
Now meet the trillion-dollar circus.
META.
$33.9B spent in ONE quarter.
Free cash flow: negative.
$160B in market value vanished in 2 days.
GOOGLE.
Long-term debt: $10.9B → $98B.
An 800% explosion.
Annual CapEx: $205B.
AMAZON.
Annual CapEx: $220B.
Up $20B.
They are buying Nvidia GPUs worth ~$5B monthly.
MICROSOFT.
CapEx swallowed 38% of ops cash flow.
Now: 63%.
Annual spend: $190B.
META $145B.
GOOGLE $205B.
AMAZON $220B.
MICROSOFT $190B.
COREWEAVE $39B.
SPACEX $40B.
Industry estimate is Whooping $1 TRILLION.
And that's merely construction.
Hardware failure: ~9% annually.
Chip’s Lifeline: ~6 years.
Then come replacements.
Because even AI gets old very fast.
Now, this is what it looks like:
Total Infra Cost: $5 TRILLION.
Annual running and replacement Cost: $2.25T.
Revenue needed for 30% margin:
$3.2 TRILLION / YEAR.
Current AI-lab revenue estimate?
Around $100B a year.
Required jump: 32 TIMES.
Today they Charge: $20 monthly,
That means they will need 13.3 BILLION paying subscribers.
But wait!
Earth has only around 8 billion humans.
Perhaps the citizens on Mars will subscribe.
NVIDIA bond crashing.
ORACLE bond crashing.
COREWEAVE bond crashing.
Even the debt needs therapy.
And as per this Billionares theory?
AI promises to replace jobs.
So if workers lose wages.
Customers lose purchasing power.
Businesses lose sales.
Then who pays for AI?
The machine replaces the customer.
The customer stops paying the machine.
They call it disruption.
Their bondholders calling it absurdity.
AI may change the world.
But the spreadsheet still wants its money.
Welcome to ‘The New World Order.’

Trust is the most important asset in the current world. Trust is the ground on which we all stand. But we are losing trust in each other and in human institutions, and instead increasingly trust only algorithms and AI.

As long as you don’t delude yourself into thinking your EV and solar panels are saving the planet
Replying to @aeberman12
I don’t regret my EV when peers fill up at $5/gallon and I smile at my solar setup’s impact on my utility bill. Reducing costs and conservation should be everyone’s goal, regardless of your views on climate or emissions.
Barry Carter retweeted
We should do everything possible to reduce emissions
But it will take generations to get things back to acceptable levels of atmospheric carbon if we ever reach net zero
If you think buying an EV or solar panel changes that, you need a serious reality check.

Two severe floods in Hurricane, Utah, in just over two months. Around 80 homes and 50 RVs affected in the latest flooding, and one couple had just spent $80,000 repairing their home. But sure, nothing unusual to see here.

Expect trouble this weekend.
All signs point to another US/Israel strike on Iran - Americans being pulled from the region, Hegseth just back from Netanyahu, and Bibi saying he’ll brief Trump but won’t ask for permission. Iran has already warned that the next round puts them in a more offensive mode focused on Gulf energy infrastructure, undersea cables, data centers, and US-linked assets.
US inventories (Big 4 + SPR) are at historic lows, refiners are running flat-out with delayed maintenance, and freight rates have exploded - Japan effectively paying ~$140/bbl for US crude. Meanwhile, the AI bubble is cracking: OpenAI valuation slipping, hyperscalers sitting on ~$3.6T in off-balance-sheet debt, token spending collapsed, and credit stress rising at the edges.
What could possibly go wrong? A lot.

I wonder which area of the UK will be the first to have its now yearly once-in-a-generation flood in autumn 2026?
1/6 AI - "Moral Hazard by Design"-a strategy where private corporations engineer a state-backed bailout before the physical and economic bubble bursts, ensuring profits are privatised while the structural debt is socialised.
5/6 A deceptive model might optimise code instantly, but real-world execution requires physical machinery, mineral extraction, and immense energy grid capacity. Digital speed hits an absolute brick wall when it meets material reality.
