Merry Christmas!
In the New Year, my resolution will be to do more video. Play with @grok Imagine, keep adding new skills.
Not sure what the best aspect ratios are, Grok said vertical or square. Cool...

A few warm fatherly tears shed today by an empty fort in the woods, so lovingly built, and so lately left, by a growing child with (quite rightly) more grown up things to do. I wish I could find her in there peeking out again, just a little smaller.
Too fast; it is all too fast.

The most damning chart in America. The stock market and GDP mean absolutely nothing if young men can't buy a home and get married.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT 🚨 American Medical Doctor in Chicago is blowing the whistle on a new practice that’s taking place
It’s called “close your eyes and immunize.” He says it’s becoming very common to vaccinate children when they go under anesthesia WITHOUT PARENT CONSENT often times because the parents are signing to do what’s best for the child under anesthesia, but doctors are now including vaccinations as necessary
Again, you take your child in for a surgery, sign the paper saying to do what’s best for your child, the hospitals are now using that consent to vaccinate your kids without your knowledge. Including with the COVID vaccine
“I'm a family doctor who practices in the suburbs and the city of Chicago. I wanted to offer some practical advice tonight to those of you who, like me, might be angry and very concerned about the news reports detailing the rise of what one hospital is calling, close your eyes, we'll immunize. This is a growing practice, perhaps pioneered at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, but something that's been around longer than the powers that be would like us to know, where children are undergoing elective and emergency medical surgeries and being immunized while they're away from their parents in the operating room”
“Parents have often given consent unknowingly or under duress for these vaccinations to be performed. And one of the things that's clear from the reports is that informed consent, which should be one of the hallmarks of medical ethics and practice today, is rarely being provided to the extent that it should be”
“Flu shot seems to be the most popular thing to administer, but RSV, COVID, and some other things are now being administered without the parents knowing while their child is in the hospital. So imagine you take your child to the hospital because they have terrible belly pain. Turns out they have appendicitis and any of appendix taken out. You sign a form saying that the surgeon and the medical team can do whatever they think is necessary to help your child. You didn't know your child's getting a flu shot 15 minutes later before the first incision is made”
Okay this is CRIMINAL in my opinion so I did my own research and found out what states this is happening in,
Pennsylvania at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia . Official “Close Your Eyes, We’ll Immunize” program running since 2023. It gave 2,054 influenza vaccine doses in the 2025–2026 season to children already under sedation anesthesia
Colorado at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Offers influenza vaccine under general anesthesia to eligible patients since 2020. More than 18,000 patients have received it. Additional vaccines are sometimes given at the request of a primary care clinician
Illinois at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and its ambulatory surgery centers. Offers flu shots under anesthesia for eligible patients age 6 months and older during scheduled surgeries and procedures
California at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center in Northern California. First KP facility in the region to offer flu shots to pediatric surgical patients ages 6 months–18 while under anesthesia for planned procedures

"Peace is never kept by those who cannot fight. That is why the deadliest blade is forged to stay in its scabbard, and why even angels are armed."
If you don't know whether or not you are being “vaccinated” (fake political/legal moving target word btw) when you go for routine things like endoscopy, cataracts, or dental surgery you have a HUGE reason not to trust your doctor's office. And the fact that they're doing it to kids is even worse.
People need to be prosecuted for this. They're going to keep doing it until they experience consequences.
18,000 children vaccinated while under anesthesia.
Parents get asked on surgery day, when they're scared, rushed, and signing a stack of forms. And if a child reacts afterward, how do you tell the anesthesia apart from the shot?
Informed consent needs time, questions, and the freedom to say "not today." Pre-op gives you none of those.

Alice Cooper could have been a king, but he saw that our culture crucifies them, so he chose to be a prince. Can’t really blame him.

I’m such an insomniac for this stuff!! I find the evolution of tech extremely interesting, not just guitar stuff, but cars, computers, even humanity.
Last night I started Plutarch’s Lives, and I was up later than I had yet been since my son was born. So interesting!
The Evolution of Guitar Overdrive and Distortion, 1951-2026
Distortion began as an equipment limitation and became one of electric guitar’s defining sounds. Driving an amplifier beyond its linear range alters the waveform, adding harmonics and compression. The goal eventually became control over breakup.
In 1951, Willie Kizart’s guitar on Jackie Brenston’s “Rocket 88” became an early recorded example of amplifier distortion. In 1958, Link Wray deliberately damaged a speaker to create the abrasive sound of “Rumble.” Faults became effects.
Gibson introduced the Maestro FZ-1 Fuzz-Tone in 1962. Its three germanium transistors made fuzz reproducible without damaged equipment. The two-transistor Arbiter Fuzz Face followed in 1966, sensitive to guitar-volume settings. Electro-Harmonix introduced the Big Muff Pi around 1969, using cascaded gain and diode clipping for dense distortion and extended perceived sustain.
Amplifiers evolved alongside pedals. Marshall’s JTM45 debuted in 1962, helping establish British tube overdrive. Fender amplifiers, including the 1963 Vibroverb, also broke up when driven hard. Master-volume designs later enabled preamp saturation at reduced volume. The Marshall JCM800 range, introduced in 1981, became a hard rock and metal mainstay.
Pedals brought different clipping behaviors to manageable volumes. The MXR Distortion+ used an operational amplifier and germanium clipping diodes. BOSS introduced the OD-1 OverDrive in 1977 and DS-1 Distortion in 1978. The Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer and Pro Co RAT entered production in 1979. The TS808’s reduced bass and emphasized midrange helped tighten an overdriven amplifier. The RAT combined heavy clipping with a variable treble-cut Filter control.
Purpose-built high-gain amplifiers expanded in the 1980s and 1990s. The Soldano SLO-100 arrived in 1987, followed by Mesa/Boogie’s Dual Rectifier in 1992. Cascaded gain and filtering increased saturation without muddy bass.
Digital processing changed access to these sounds. The Line 6 POD popularized amp modeling for direct recording. Fractal’s Axe-Fx followed in 2006, Kemper’s Profiling Amplifier in 2011, Neural DSP’s Quad Cortex in 2021 and IK Multimedia’s TONEX pedal in 2023. By 2026, analog pedals, tube amps, digital models and amplifier captures coexisted.
Overdrive generally describes gradual, touch-responsive clipping. Distortion tends toward heavier clipping and compression. Fuzz can approach square-wave or gated behavior. These are overlapping descriptions, not rigid circuit categories. Clipping adds harmonics; filtering before and after clipping determines which frequencies saturate and how the result reaches the speaker. Even symmetrical versus asymmetrical clipping changes harmonic content.
The central advance was control over gain, harmonics, filtering and playing dynamics - not merely more distortion.

Everyone must read this novel. As soon as possible, ideally.
We're about to read it in our book club. The opening lines have never felt more relevant:
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us..."
The news cycle is an endless procession of doom. There are a thousand reasons to despair. It feels as though our time is uniquely chaotic, that an old order is collapsing and what lies ahead is beyond control. But we have been here before.
Dickens takes us into the hysteria of the French Revolution and a society utterly consumed by vengeance. But he also shows how an act of self-sacrificial love can redeem it. Indeed, "Death may beget life".
You must live now by refusing to be part of the cycle of decay. The counter to the mob is YOU, and the redemption of your own life. You are called to discover life even in the midst of terrible evil and death. The darkest times are the setting for the greatest acts of love.
This is one of the most powerful novels ever written. Please join our group and read it with us.

JUST IN: UK police arrest 15 y/o boy, seize his devices, & collect his DNA after he posted photo of a local politician edited to look like a rabbit.
Man, this is crazy. Reminds me of bus fire drill days. I wonder if they still do that?
A school bus was making its rounds to pickup the kids for school in Evansville, Indiana.
6 kids were on the bus at the time the driver noticed smoke coming from under the hood.
She was able to get the kids off and pull off to the side in the development, before the bus went up in flames.
No injuries reported, but the bus was a total loss. The fore department is investigating the cause.
This is the moment, where you can literally see him putting his body in front of his kid’s. His kids eyes clearly seen behind him.
Never, ever, give up your guns. No one but YOU will ever be able to protect your children like this.
