Families in Gaza are drowning right now. This is exactly what I repeatedly warned about over the past few days. I published dozens of posts, raising the alarm about this day and the rain that would flood tents and make people's suffering even worse.
Now, everything we feared is happening. Tents are flooded, families are drowning in rainwater, and damaged buildings are at risk of collapsing on top of those living inside.
I cannot describe the extent of this abandonment. No words are enough to capture this scene. We warned, we cried out, and we pleaded, but families were left alone to face this disaster. It is heartbreaking and deeply disappointing.

Only in #Yemen: An arms dealer in Yemen’s Abu Kenan is advertising a purple and baby-blue subcompact rifle to fans of @PUBG and @Fortnite, pitching it as the perfect gift for your wife.
His sales pitch is something else. Why buy your wife flowers when they’ll eventually dry up, die, and end up in the trash? Buy her a rifle instead. It’ll last a lifetime.
He even jokes that if you mess around or drive her crazy enough, she might end up shooting you with it.

A reader recently told me that Azad was almost certainly of Kurdish background. Before Iraq, he belonged to jihadist networks in Turkey that targeted Jewish sites.

Just in: The PUK is set to announce an interim government in Sulaimani and begin the constitutional process, through Iraq’s election commission, to establish a separate region covering Sulaimani and Halabja governorates.
At a meeting in Sulaimani today, attended by the party’s senior leadership, heads of its security agencies and retired leaders, the PUK decided not to recognise the parliament, to withdraw from the current KRG cabinet and to trigger the constitutional steps towards a separate region.
