Also, in researching and writing this review, it came to my attention Katharine Hepburn and I share a gender, so I recorded one of her monologues from the film.
With THE MADWOMAN, @sisterjohnston gives a riveting eyewitness account of trying to create art, a revolution and yourself - and how all of it can drive you crazy. This production is a whole package that Johnston wrote, co-designed with her sister and performs. 1/3
Not only is THE MADWOMAN about history and art as survival guides; it is one. And @sisterjohnston’s performance alone makes a compelling case for her canonization as a queer icon. 2/3
In conclusion, see THE MADWOMAN whenever you can! And thank you, @sunstonemke, for supporting local artists and their projects. You are a precious and accessible resource in a city that desperately needs it. 3/3

Most people, at the end, realize they’ve spent a lot of their life hiding. Sometimes by choice, or because they could not safely choose to be themselves. ➡️
I've definitely been awake since 4 AM because I'm at the office and I just responded to a minor inconvenience by declaring, "boo hiss, poop and piss."
