That Kazan tweet is obviously v over-dramatic but the point being glossed over is that one of the most significant writers of American socialist fiction’s work is being positioned and marketed as a HUAC collaborator’s family inheritance which feels seriously under-interrogated

Why did the NYFF approve a film that uses so much AI?
I found it incredibly disheartening that 14th, the closing film of NYFF, uses so much AI upscaling & animation efects. Really distracting from the film’s message and not how we should be treating our historical documents. Turns powerful images of the past into uncanny spectacle.

What I love about Puck’s Matt Belloni is that he won’t hesitate for one second to burn bridges.

Man destroyed a movie studio with 100 years of history so he could pocket half a billion dollars. Soulless scum who should be shot into the sun

Man literally did nothing but drag a studio down to the mud, just to sell it for ANOTHER MERGER. He has contributed nothing but the worst aspects of corporations shitty practices and cost thousands of people’s jobs and livelihoods.
David Zaslav bids farewell to Warner Bros. employees in a video ahead of the official closing of the Warner Bros.-Paramount merger: “For me, it’s been a great honor to be alongside all of you,” Zaslav says in the 3-minute video. “I hope you take pride in what you’ve built, what you’ve created, and the role you’ve played in shaping an extraordinary history. What’s past is prologue. The future waits for each and every one of you. For your spirit, your ingenuity, your creativity and your courage. I can’t wait to see what you do in the years ahead." variety.com/2026/film/news/d…
