Before the football starts, I just wanted to give a quick reminder that we have only 2 tickets left for our first Wearside Urban Safari of the year in Feb. Would be fantastic to see this one sold out - this one always goes down a treat. See you there 😄 northeastheritagelibrary.co.…

Informed two of my staff members that they're in the shortlist for a promotion. Later I noticed one of the hopefuls bragging to friends on social media that they might be promoted at work. That person did not get promoted. Because they spelled it "permotion" in the posts.

⛏️ Miners' Modernism: Pithead Baths They brought European architectural modernism to working class communities across the country, and delivered widespread health and welfare benefits some two decades before the founding of the NHS, yet the story of Britain’s pioneering Pithead Baths has been almost completely forgotten. Now a new research project, led by C20 and @QUBelfast, aims to shed new light on their legacy and discover exactly how many of these ground-breaking colliery buildings remain. 📍We need your help! Our research has so far identified 65 surviving examples across the former coalfields. The project is now calling on local heritage groups, ex-miners, and mapping sleuths to record further examples and help complete the picture. ➡️ Click for more information and to get involved: c20society.org.uk/news/miner…

A Microwave needs needs one button: the +30 sec cook button. Can be stoped by opening the door. All other buttons are pointless. Nobody microwaves anything on 70% power for 3 min 17 sec.

Just scrolling through some old photos and came across this absolute gem of @PlanningShit. It's in Newcastle BTW. Can't imagine how oppressive the rear gardens are to love with, oh and the shed was up on the top tier, handy...

When I was young I never understood how old people could search for their glasses, only to realise they had them on their head the whole time. I just spent 10 minutes searching the house for my wireless earbuds which, yes, were in my ears all along.

Vitally important advice from @ClevelandFB. We have seen this on so many insurance claims @AspSunderland and closed doors save lives and further prevent damage.
🔥🏠 These powerful images from a house fire we attended recently show why it’s so important to close your doors at night. 🚪 A simple action can save lives and property. Close your doors before bed to stop the spread of fire and smoke!

A Sunday homily: 'Keeping It Light in a Heavy Digital World'. In the age of the ever-watchful algorithm, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But let's not forget the power of human connection. As we navigate the complexities of the digital age, let us remember the importance of kindness; a kind word, empathy, and respect. Let's spread some much-needed joy. , and let's use our voices to uplift, not to divide. A world where open dialogue thrives is a world worth striving for. Let's choose empathy over enforcement. Educate, not eradicate. Have a great week!

I've said this for years!
TV channels that show nothing but old repeats of 80s & 90s shows should have to show the original adverts that were shown with the show.

So happy to get out on my bike today. I was lucky to be given a '17 Giant CX frame and fork and have built it up with GRX & Deore components + spares and Ebay 2nd hand parts. This is my first build + i've made loads of mistakes along the way but lots of smiles today. #gravel

Twas a bit foggy on the Tyne last night, still a glorious view. As a Geordie residing in Sunderland I hope that the Wear develops to this extent, it's certainly making progress to be a rival to the Tyne gorge(ous).

The barmy pseudo-scientific waffle spouted by football 'data analysts', and how they've been allowed to repackage simple terms with four or five words of utterly maddening gibberish, is one of many reasons to loathe modern football.

Dentist here. I never ever floss and I often don't brush for the full 2 minutes. Fun thing is, I'm a picture of perfect dental health. Probably because I'm not constantly eating ultra-processed shit like the rest of you.

Hello! We’ve sold a couple more tickets for this so there’s very limited space left. I can’t express how much I loved it last week, so would be delighted to see some more faces. Something a little different for your Saturday - the last of the year! eventbrite.co.uk/e/deep-dive…
