The fundamentals of trading are important. I see too often in this space skewed expectations, oversizing, lack of self control, etc. Traders love to attribute their lack of success to poor strategy, which is why so many strategy bounce from mentor to mentor or paid group to paid group, searching for that "holy grail" that will make them profitable tomorrow. That doesn't exist. Getting to a state of profitability has little to do with strategy, there are a million strategies that can turn a buck. This post will likely piss some people off and end with me losing followers, but that is ok… The “FinX” space has evolved into something of little value. It has become dominated by salesman and charlatans. 90% of posts I see are someone either pushing some indicator, discord, or course…..or…..it’s someone posting their 10x prop “funded sim” accounts PnL while never mentioning the other batches they failed before those. You have prop firm flippers playing dice, and making money, but than disguising their victories as properly managing an account and being a good trader, when they aren't actually trading. You have someone trying to sell you indicators or "algos" everywhere you look. You have affiliate codes getting jammed down your throat, Etc. There is very little value on here, value that an aspiring trader can learn from or utilize in their own trading. This lack of value has exponentially gotten worse in the last 2-3 years. I’m not saying it’s bad to sell stuff. Monetizing ones efforts is fine, but that assumes you are selling something of value and not selling snake oil. The reality is, being a profitable trader puts you in a small minority pool. All these people selling stuff are mostly people that failed to make it into that pool, and are now selling stuff to those aspiring to make it into that pool. The faster you realize this, the quicker you can save money. Before you pay a single dollar to anyone on here, ask for proof. Understand what game they are playing. Are they trading or are they flipping evals, because those are different games with different rules. Do you want to learn to trade or do you want to learn to play dice? Are they selling something that has no historical performance attached to it? Anyone can make a back test look good, but how has it performed live, with real money? Stop wasting your money and demand proof. If they cant provide proof, than move on because they are just another failed trader trying to make a buck off of aspiring traders.
