Scotland opened its first commercial gold mine in 2020.
The gold was there, but by 2023, the company was in administration.
Getting it out cost more than it was worth.
That's what keeps gold scarce: Effort.

Week one ✅
We have just wrapped up the first week of the Bitcoin Business Network's national expansion, opening up in Newcastle and then Leeds.
One thing is clear: the tides are changing. When a leading law firm is bringing the Bitcoin conversation under its roof, you know things are moving in the right direction. Huge thanks to @HillDickinson for hosting us in their fantastic offices.
The feedback we've had has confirmed that the UK needs more spaces like this right across the country. A safe environment where individuals and entrepreneurs with the same values can come together.
You do not need to be a business owner. You do not need to be a senior executive. The only requirement is curiosity and a belief that through the power of a community we can help shape the future of money in the UK.
