Clay didn't slay. WB's CLAYFACE is the #1 movie in North America w/ a debut of $24M, but the DC brand itself is in a freefall. You know what really sucks: even MORBIUS opened with $39M.

Apparently, DC Comics thought it was a GREAT idea to have one of their first and most prominent lesbian characters (Batwoman) start dating a MAN who runs around dressed like a Japanese schoolgirl with programmer socks and cat ears. Wtf is this homophobic garbage, @DCOfficial?

You could technically say Clayface is the worst DCU film since Supergirl. It’s the only one since Supergirl
#Clayface is the best DCU film since Supergirl. Gunn's vision of Gotham is unlike anything we've seen before. It's dark, gritty, and contains the scariest scenes I've ever seen in a movie before. This is a big one. The reaction to who Aaron Paul is playing will break the internet

That’s the word: Values. The left values things that ruin stories. Leftist values just ruined Lanterns. And when you try to stay true to the old values that made for great art, and pass them to a new generation — you get fired.
Disney honors its animation legends, but Brad Bird says defending the values and lessons of those legends is what got him fired. His Oscar-winning Pixar career adds a twist to a clash over the creative standards Disney claims to celebrate. More details below:

I'm sick of these millionaire actors charging us for movies. They should be free!
Seth Rogen says Elon Musk shouldn't be charging people at the Tesla Diner in LA because he's rich. "I’m sick of these billionaires charging us for burgers." Just so you know, Google estimates Rogen to be worth around $80 million. I reckon it's more.

Finally, an original story coming from Disney about a girl discovering, embracing, and accepting who she really is. A story never, ever told in all the magical realm of storytelling.

I am not anti film critic. I love film criticism. It is essential to have smart brains giving real analysis on the most dominant art form of our lifetime. However, the field is muddled with groupthink and ideological dogma, not to mention a mass infestation of Dunning-Krugerism. Politically the line starts left of center, and only grows more acceptable as the graph goes left. It's bad for movies but, more importantly, it's disconnected from half of the country, if not the world. I doubt all of these credentialed critics are as party line as their collective would make them out to be. They are under the same pressures of being cancelled as any other job, if not more due to the need for readership. But there's no excuse. You chose to to be a public voice, and if you calibrate one word of it to placate employers, audiences, and your paycheck out of repercussions, you are the sellout you accuse many filmmakers of being. Film criticism is very important work. It frames the mass hallucination of our time - moving images - and the basic rule is to keep it honest. The most honest person in the room is often the least popular. They exist, they are few, and yes, they are unpopular. Anyway if your thinking is groupthink, either you don't have the skill to realize it, surpass it, or you're faking it.

#10thAnniversary I'll be mentioning this again (at length) tomorrow, but second only to my YouTube community (with sizable overlap) has been my following on Twitter/X over the last 10 years. For all of its highs and lows, Twitter has helped to keep me engaged with the goings-on in the world, and as well given me the opportunity to connect with so many people I otherwise would not have been able to; whether other creators, random netizens, but most especially my viewers. So for those of you that have ever shared one of my videos, or engaged with any of my ramblings on here; for those that have enjoyed my photoshop skills with a poster or a meme; thank you so much for you time and attention over the years. I am eternally grateful. Hope to see you tomorrow for the anniversary stream, where, same as last year, we're looking to raise money for #leukemia research. Thanks! youtube.com/watch?v=SkMTsDJ9…

Your employer is currently trying to get a film production shut down because of politics while you casually just do the look the other way act. This doesn't work anymore. If you want to address terminally online, perhaps you should direct that attention to Will Sommer, your colleague.
Glen Powell is smart to avoid politics because people who are terminally online and obsessed with politics are the unhappiest people on Earth, and their only brief joy comes from making others miserable like them. Trust me, I speak from experience as an online, political person.

Be Damon Lindelof Go to the higher ups at HBO and tell them you have a pitch for a popular DC IP Change the setting to a fly over state Sideline the famous white lead and make him the problem Make the entire story about race and how black people in America are perpetual victims Piss off the actual fans of the IP while using the race baiting as a deflection from criticism Leave the show after the first season claiming you told the story you always wanted to tell Sniff your own farts and pat yourself on the back for bastardizing someone elses work

It’s the entertainment industry mothers who are the psychos.
Actress Camryn Manheim: I always wanted a gay son. I have photos of my son in high heels, in full drag. But no! He's the only straight guy in his musical theatre company. When Marcia Gay Harden told me her son had come out to her, I said, "Oh my god, you are so f**king lucky!"
