Western animation studios have lately become adamant that their movies should not be remotely challenging or emotionally complex because they want to be as "box office safe" as possible. It's destroying the industry and Laika seems to be one of the few voices willing to say no.

Once again we are in the winter dilemma we usually face.
Eat or Heat.
In the last 3 months of fundraising we haven't raised enough for 2 months of food.
This months fundraising for fuel is also causing us sleepless nights.
We are a very small organisation, doing amazing and necessary work in Syria - and we still need your support.
The war ended, the problems with animal welfare didn't.
We are helping more animals now than at any time in our history.
We are neutering, vaccinating, advising, educating and performing 100s of surgeries every month - to save lives and improve conditions for all animals.
We do not have big reserves of food, or fuel or money. We only have you.

poor Wilbur. the biopsy of the mass in his left elbow came back as osteosarcoma, exactly what I didn't want to hear
his left arm will have to be amputated ASAP for the best chance of being curative. surgery is scheduled for end of the month
