COLUMN: Mark Carney’s selective morality on human rights
If the PM is going to keep gallivanting around the world making trade deals with the world’s worst dictatorships and downplaying their atrocities, could he please stop lecturing Israel about human rights?torontosun.com/opinion/colum…

Half a million protesters. A historic town hall in flames. France faces a stark question: violence or the Republic?
Over half a million people marched in France last Saturday, and rioters burned down Limoges's 19th-century town hall. Prime Minister Lecornu says parliament must choose "between violence and the Republic."

Chow and her minions at Progress Toronto - and chatterboxes on here - are trying to portray Bradford and anyone who supports him as "far right" or "Maple MAGA" which means they are scary.
Here is the Liberal MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood explaining why she's backing Brad.
Scarborough deserves transit that actually gets people where they need to go, and so much more.
Thank you to Scarborough—Guildwood MPP @AndreaHazelll for your endorsement to get Scarborough moving.
On Monday, October 26, vote for real change and real results.

On this day, we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.
We remember all those who stood against the evil of communism. We honor the young freedom fighters who sacrificed everything to join the struggle against tyranny, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice. These young men and women had their entire lives ahead of them, yet when duty called, they put everything on the line, taking to the streets to defend their families, their nation, and their freedom. Instead of watching passively from their classrooms, they joined the fight, knowing well that it may be their last.
Finally, we remember the innocent lives lost and forever scarred by the horrors of communism. To us at the VOC, it remains deeply troubling that so many around the world continue to glorify this wretched ideology. It is therefore our duty to ensure that the dark history of communism is never forgotten—not only for the sake of future generations, but also in honour of the countless men and women whose lives, dreams, and futures were stolen by it.

Minister lobbies @GGCanada.
When did partisan meetings at @RideauHall become normal?
This morning, I met with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Louise Arbour, Governor General of Canada, at Rideau Hall to discuss Canada’s National AI Strategy, AI for All.
We discussed how we can build public trust in AI, expand opportunities for Canadians and ensure Canada has greater control over the technology we build and use. That includes helping young Canadians build AI skills, strengthening safeguards and investing in Canadian talent and infrastructure.
AI must work for Canadians, on Canada’s terms.
🇨🇦

Britain once threatened war with its oldest friend. 🇬🇧
A friendship sealed at Windsor in 1386. Still in force today. 🤝
In 1839 Britain told Portugal: stop shipping human beings. Or the Royal Navy will stop you. ⚓
Off East Africa, HMS Modeste chased a slave ship for nearly nine hours. 695 people stepped onto a jetty at Cape Town. Never sold. 🕊️
They teach you the ships that carried people. Not the ones that stopped them.

NETHERLANDS: HISTORIC COURT HEARING UNDERWAY
“COVID-19 injections are lethal, or at least highly harmful to human health and fertility.” — Lawyer Peter Stassen
Seven Dutch citizens have filed a civil lawsuit against 17 defendants, including Bill Gates, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, and former Prime Minister Mark Rutte, alleging deception and harm from Covid-19 vaccines without proper informed consent.
🚨BILL GATES/BOURLA TRIAL: “These injections are a BIOLOGICAL WEAPON.”
“COVID-19 injections are LETHAL.”
“The global deployment of this biological weapon can only take place through the UNLAWFUL deception of the public on a global scale.”
“The defendants [including Bill Gates and Albert Bourla] are implementers of the ‘COVID-19: The Great Reset’ project and are GUILTY of this deception; they are therefore being sued individually in these proceedings.”

📣I CONTACTED COSTCO AND SUNRISE FARMS. HERE'S WHAT I FOUND.📣
A Costco meat manager confirmed to me that Kirkland-branded chicken, beef, and lamb are halal-certified. Organic chicken is not. I was told this has been the practice for YEARS. The beef is certified, but if opened and cut in store it is "no longer Halal".
I also contacted Sunrise Farms, which confirmed that they are halal-certified. However, when I asked whether they stun animals BEFORE slaughter, I was transferred and received no answer.
Lilydale is now owned by Sofina Foods, but I was unable to reach anyone there by phone.
SO WHAT DOES HALAL SLAUGHTER MEAN?
Halal slaughter requires a prescribed religious method, including a throat incision and a prayer or invocation. The use of stunning depends on the halal certification requirements: some halal standards permit reversible stunning before the cut; others do not.
In conventional slaughter, animals are generally stunned before the cut to render them unconscious. The important question is whether halal-certified meat is produced using pre-slaughter stunning or without it.
WHAT DOES CANADIAN LAW SAY?
Under Canada's federal slaughter regulations, religious slaughter may be conducted without prior stunning under specified conditions. The rules require the animal to be unconscious before it is suspended and dead before dressing procedures begin.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulates slaughter practices, but halal certification alone does not tell consumers whether an animal was stunned before its throat was cut.
MY QUESTION IS SIMPLE:
If consumers are buying halal-certified meat without realizing it, shouldn't they be able to find out exactly how the animals were slaughtered?
I contacted these companies to get answers. I still have an important unanswered question:
**ARE THE ANIMALS STUNNED BEFORE SLAUGHTER?**
Consumers deserve clear, transparent answers.
Wise words.
If Albertans keep tearing each other apart, you're handing the province straight back to the NDP — and the bill for that last time was brutal. Under Rachel Notley’s NDP (2015–2019):
Alberta’s debt exploded by more than $50 billion.
The province ran multi-billion-dollar deficits every single year (peaking above $10 billion).
They piled on the carbon tax, higher corporate taxes, and a pile of new regulations that helped drive the oil and gas sector into a deep freeze — unemployment hit double digits and tens of thousands of high-paying jobs disappeared.
Per-capita spending soared while investment fled.
That’s the track record. Not theory. Actual results. So the real question is simple: Do you want four more years of that? Higher taxes, more debt, fewer jobs, and another exodus of capital and talent — all because conservatives and common-sense Albertans were too busy fighting each other to keep the NDP out? Stop the infighting. Or get ready to pay for it.

I read the Hansard from when the UK House of Lords read through the British North America Act. One of their only objections was to point out how dumb the Senate idea was. To which the colonial secretary told them to shut up because this was what Canadians had worked out.
Replying to @TristinHopper
The whole Senate arrangement in Canada is organized political corruption, and a finger in the face of Canadians that support it. Membership by appointment by PM is an invitation to abuse, JTrudeau set a new low for that, among other things.
