J.D. Vance: The who refused to stand up to Donald Trump when the US needed him to.
It is publicly known that J.D. Vance opposed the disastrous war on Iran, however his opposition and the legacy of it has proven to be completely and utterly meaningless.
Instead of being courageous enough to resign over the disaster like Joe Kent did, he stayed silent out of fear of incurring Trump’s wrath and starting a civil war in the MAGA movement between Trump loyalists and those who oppose the war.
His diplomacy with Iran failed, and Trump destroyed the Memorandum of Understanding weeks after Vance had helped forge the agreement. Still, Vance said nothing.
Walking into a catastrophe for the Republican Party in the midterms, he still said nothing publicly about how the war on Iran would result in the MAGA movement being sent into oblivion.
Only after the electoral cataclysm, the splintering, anger and dejection of the MAGA movement did J.D. Vance choose to finally squarely blame the war on Iran for the unprecedented Republican defeat.
But it’s simply too late. J.D. Vance cannot escape being associated with the war on Iran and its disastrous consequences. The simple question he will face at every turn should he run for the Presidency is: ‘why did you go along with this plan knowing it would be so disastrous?’
His political capital is finished, at least for now….and the MAGA movement disintegrates under the lies and broken promises of Donald Trump. America First was codeword for Israel First, and the majority of the US population recognise it.
Only the minority of Trump’s diehard loyalists still stand behind him, and the number is increasingly dwindling and inconsequential.
