He didn’t just hate the railway as such; he hated the way it flattered people with the illusion of progress. What was the point of scientific advance without moral advance? The railway would merely permit more people to move about, meet & be stupid together. -Julian Barnes $TWTR

"We used our majority and our monopoly on violence to take a portion of your working paycheck to hand to millions of us who are wealthier than you. How dare you opine on the process. You pay the bill and be quiet like a good boy. When you become the majority you don't get a say."
Who are you to tell others what they need? It's not about need. You act like everyone has the same situation. Some are still caring for parents or have health issues themselves. You communists need to get a life.

When welfare for retirees is the largest part of government spending, by far, it is indeed our prerogative to tell them what they need. If we want to help people it should be because they are poor, not because they are old.

No, retirees should **not** have average incomes! They don't need it!! Their home should be paid off, they aren't raising children, and they no longer have to save for retirement! Let alone the impossible mathematics of giving non-workers an average income.
I'm not entirely sure that I think it's outrageous for people who have worked all their lives and educated you and worked to build the country you inherit to have a more or less average income in retirement.

I really wish $NTDOY mgmt would do simple layups like debut the Zelda movie launch trailer 1 week early *in* the Ocarina game release. Would be the first time a movie trailer used to drive cross-media sales.

Waiting in line at midnight in Nov for a 28 yo game with the smallest development cost of any game in the last 20 years ...sold out $40-80M vs >$1B for GTA6...plus drives S2 sales (huge lifetime value) & $NTDOY keeps the platform fee.

Ponder this: If AI trained on X, Jim Cramer's AI agent, if smart enough to identify him, would refute every query he makes. It's been at least a half decade where X - to him - is a machine where you say anything and *human intelligence* responds that you're totally wrong.

I think he's the only person on Earth with a training set sizeable enough for this to happen. "What are some good Mexican restaurants near me?" AI: "They're all going bankrupt." "No they're not." AI: "I'm shorting them. Also should I add your bud Inverse to the resy?"

Lotta ppl on here think the $ANT S1 proved the bears wrong & they literally don't mention valuation or future commitments $32B of rev/yr? OK. $518B capex through 2045 Let's say 50% net profit % = 16B 2x & 2x over 20 yrs to 64B ($META today) META is $1.6T.

This assume ANT never has to cut pricing, creates no dilution (the dilution is already a 100% given as it can't cover the near term capex), competition never damages it, and customers don't get better at auto-routing queries to cheaper models.

Every recent funding of $ANT has been pref stock (buying equity & an extremely OTM put) and/or roundtrip financing (where you get your money back). ANT's IPO is asking for smooth brains to bail all that out and take first losses. Amazingly the S1 guarantees future dilution!

Wow. Trump sent a battleship with about 14 days of lead time to cross the Atlantic after previously "completely" destroying Iran's nukes w the MOAB. Markets *rose* while the battleship traveled eastward then sold off. "Markets respond instantly" lmao
Trump: "We didn't start the war with Iran. Iran started the war with us."

If I'm not supposed to think of $ANT in purely transactional terms, why are they angling for the highest price possible? Shouldn't they be thinking non-transactionally as well?

Pretty crazy the market rewarded $META for committing to AI capabilities (& thus massive AI spend) & now is surprised it...has massive AI spend. It's like celebrating a credit card swipe then lamenting the monthly statement showing it... ...this isn't even Finance 101 level

There's an interesting dynamic that the chip cos are making *so* much money that taking equity in their customers (via a convenient round trip) is like a portfolio approach for buybacks - rather than plow it all into their own stocks, they are buying others'.
meta is selling $35b of stock this morning. $22.5b of class a through forwards it can settle whenever it wants out to november 2027, plus $12.5b of mandatory converts. the kicker is the cornerstone list. nvidia, amd and broadcom indicated interest in up to $5b of the common, nothing binding. the chip vendors are angling for equity in the buyer, cash that could go right back to them as capex. guide is $135 to $145b this year against about $97b of operating cash flow through september. and behind today's deal sits a planned $60b class c atm for 2027. one of the largest ai capex programs is taking dilution, and the suppliers want a piece of the paper tmcnet.com/usubmit/2026/10/2…

Like “this stock will 10x this month but there will be a day ppl need to withdraw for tax purposes and it will go to zero.” There’s a lot of “alpha” from 24-32x mult swings the authors attribute to fundies insight - that they’ve been wrong about (The iPhone Supercycle)
Ppl really forget that the corollary of the rise of passive is inelasticity, which at its extreme means what were one cushioned drawdowns become crashes. Remember we got a COVID-magnitude selloff for…tariffs
