The pensioners of today supported the pensioners, economy, defence and all other public spending during their working lives of ~50 years. At yesterday's prices.
Your post is disingenuous.
You should be thanking them.
Unfortunately not, and this is the problem. The average pensioner receives substantially more in pensions, health and other benefits than they contributed in tax/NI during their working lives. (Difficult to calculate but some estimates put the average difference at around £200K). The reasons for this underfunding are 1. the ‘contributions’ were not saved - they have already been spent and 2. the level of contribution was calculated when life expectancy was 65 and people died after short illnesses, rather than spending 20 years or more receiving pensions and increasingly expensive healthcare. The fact that we can’t afford the current pension arrangements is not a moral issue; it’s a mathematical one.

"Reform's alternative budget released today includes many proposals that will finally get Britain's economy growing again.
Abolishing the Energy Profits Levy will play a crucial role in ensuring the country's energy security, which a recent ASI index ranked below Romania and Ukraine. Windfall taxes undermine the incentive on firms to be ready to drill when prices are high: without them, the UK's domestic energy supply will be far more secure, and the country will be less vulnerable to price hikes and energy crises. It will also lower electricity costs at a time of eye-wateringly high energy prices, which will cost the average family an extra £206 in the coming year.
The alternative budget's proposals will also give a desperately needed boost to housebuilding. Leaving the Aarhus convention, which paralyses planning reviews and raises costs for developers, will make it easier and faster to build new homes. Repealing Biodiversity Net Gain rules will also reduce costs and delays for housebuilders, 94% of which have been hit by delays due to the rule.
Taken together, these changes will mean more houses are built faster and for a lower cost - which will go a long way to solving Britain's housing crisis. If done right, planning deregulation like those proposed by this alternative budget could single-handedly raise long-run GDP by 7.05% - a rise of almost £3,000 per person."

Even if the Reform vote utterly collapsed and the party fell apart, I know I would not be alone in saying I would still not vote for the Conservative Party again.
The so called "Kemistry" is inauthentic. She has Matt Hancock's Witch Finder General coordinating policy and writing the manifesto and Henry Newman who pushed Net Zero and statutory gender self recognition as her Chief of Staff. They have not changed.

I’m convinced at this point that journalism is dead and it’s been completely taken over by political activists masquerading as reporters. 🤦🏻♀️
We have yet another unbelievably misleading headline about Reform.
Journalism is supposed to be about presenting the facts and letting readers make up their own minds. Instead.. this looks like an attempt to make Reform look bad by manufacturing a contradiction that doesn’t exist.
David Maddox at The Independent claims Reform councillors are being told to “do as little as possible” in their first 100 days.. attempting to make Nigel look like he’s contradicting himself. He’s not.
The article is comparing TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS!
🩵 Farage’s NATIONAL pledge: If Reform wins a general election.. his government will move quickly to introduce major reforms, pass legislation and deliver on its first 100 day promises.
🩵 The LOCAL council guidance: Councillors responsible for adult social care should understand the services they’re taking over before making major changes that could affect vulnerable elderly and disabled people.
👉🏻 One is about a future government running the COUNTRY.
👉🏻 The other is about councillors responsibly managing LOCAL CARE SERVICES.
And the actual guidance says “don’t rush into big changes”, NOT “do as little as possible”.
See the difference? 🤦🏻♀️
Maddox has taken perfectly sensible advice, twisted its meaning and presented it as a contradiction of a completely separate national pledge.
This isn’t presenting readers with the facts and letting them decide. It’s pushing an interpretation before they’ve even read the article.
And frankly, I’m sick of it. 🙄

Christopher Hope’s performance is textbook lobby cartel behavior. Farage and Jenrick stood up to deliver a serious, structural 64-point economic rescue blueprint to salvage a bankrupt country, and the very first question from "the people's channel" wasn't about productivity, £40bn in Whitehall cuts, or tax relief. It was a sneering, gossip-column attack about room capacity and a cherry-picked Ipsos poll. GB News built its entire brand promising to be the insurgent antidote to the BBC, yet the moment Reform puts forward real alternative governance, @christopherhope sounds indistinguishable from a Guardian lobby intern doing a hatchet job for the Tory rump. @GBNEWS

When Rupert Lowe went to the Mail he labelled Reform a protest party, described Farage as the messiah, and insisted on proper structure and a clear front bench.
Two years later the same questions can be put to Lowe and his own party, while Reform has moved on, professionalised, and is actively challenging the establishment on the issues that matter.

One thing that's surprised me about Andy Burnham is the extent to which he just lies.
He says this morning small boats are because of Brexit and "we can't return people".
The FACTS:
In last 5 years of Dublin agreement the UK took in far more migrants than it sent back.
2016: net 200
2017: net 150
2018: net 1000
2019: net 500
2020: net 800
Five years = net 2,500 more migrants than sent back.
Plus, now we'd have to sign up to the migration and asylum pact so the numbers will be enormous.
He knows this. His advisors know this.
They are just lying to you.

Everyone on £13k should be exempt.
It's abhorrent.
Why don't you get this?
How many working age people live on only £13k without supplementary benefits?
Why should a pensioner on a £13K income be exempt from income tax when a person of working age is not? Those of working age do not receive free travel or all sorts of other discounts to which pensioners are entitled. We do not exempt people from tax based on how many dependents they have, or how much housing in their area costs, so why exempt individuals based on age?

Free movement will lead to further overcrowding. That’s the only thing that matters in this debate.
Think tanks on both sides will argue over GDP and all that. But the only thing that matters to ordinary people is supply, infrastructure, and public services.
Overcrowding.
Overcrowding.

🚨 BBC BUSTED AGAIN! Accused of pushing left wing ideology on schoolchildren through its education website!
BBC Bitesize, used by 1.7 MILLION pupils every week, has removed controversial teaching materials following an investigation by The Mail on Sunday.
Here’s what was uncovered:
‼️ An online game reportedly rewarded children for choosing open borders and granting amnesty to illegal migrants.
‼️ Teaching material suggested concerns about migrants taking local jobs were “prejudiced”.
‼️ Children were encouraged to join Amnesty International.
‼️ Pages promoted progressive political figures, including Greta Thunberg.
‼️ Following the investigation, the BBC removed or suspended disputed material and placed it under review.
💥 Former BBC television controller Danny Cohen called the material a blatant breach of impartiality and demanded answers.
And rightly so! 💯
The BBC is funded by licence fee payers. Its job is to EDUCATE children, not tell them which political opinions are acceptable.
How did this material get approved in the first place, and who was responsible for ensuring political impartiality?
😤 Defund the BBC!!

How Legacy Media Rig the Narrative 🧵
The sudden barrage of polling data broadcast across legacy networks is not an objective reflection of the electorate, but a highly curated narrative designed to manufacture consent. When establishment outlets like GB News elevate outlier polls showing a miraculous Conservative recovery, they are actively participating in narrative engineering. They deliberately ignore comprehensive aggregate models and Nowcasts that show Reform UK capturing massive vote shares and dozens of seats, choosing instead to platform washed-up Tory frontbenchers to pontificate over single, cherry-picked graphics. This is the Uniparty media apparatus in full deployment. By filtering reality through a selective lens, the establishment right-wing media is desperately attempting to resuscitate a collapsed Conservative brand while gaslighting the public into believing the populist momentum has stalled. The goal is to make the televised reality entirely divorced from the reality on the streets.

🚨 WHOA!! Kemi Badenoch’s former consultant was caught on camera allegedly offering to BROKER CONTRACT KILLINGS!! 😳
Jack Ross, a former Tory candidate who worked as a social media consultant in Kemi Badenoch’s office in 2025, has now been suspended by the Conservative Party.
An undercover Al Jazeera investigation filmed him apparently discussing how much it would cost to have someone beaten, stabbed, shot or even KILLED!
He allegedly offered to put the reporter in touch with someone who could arrange it.
‼️ And now it turns out he was working in the office of the leader of the Conservative Party just last year!
And these are the people who want to lecture Reform about VETTING?! 🤦🏻♀️
You genuinely couldn’t make this stuff up.
Someone needs to do an investigation into Kemi asap.

🚨 BREAKING: Former Tory candidate who was suspended over contract killer claims worked in Kemi Badenoch’s office as a consultant.
• Jack Ross, a former Conservative local election candidate, has had his party membership suspended with immediate effect pending an investigation.
• He was filmed by an undercover reporter for an Al Jazeera documentary apparently discussing the cost of hiring people to carry out violent acts, including asking “What do you want done?” and listing options that could be arranged for money.
• Police in Scotland say they will review the documentary for any potential criminality.
• It has emerged that Ross worked in 2025 as a junior social media consultant in the office of Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, which can draw on taxpayer funds. Sources close to her confirmed the external contract role.
• Ross has denied the allegations, saying his remarks were not meant to be taken seriously.

A reward for his efforts in helping to bring down former Prime Ministers. He really isn’t a man they want to spill the beans given what he knows. Passionate about the council of Europe - an ardent Remainer who would never vote to leave the ECHR like many of those being selected for Tory seats.
His choice of companions at events in a world of social media is both brave and fascinating.
It’s not Kemi who runs the Conservative Party. I’m amazed there are still people who think she Rishi, Boris et al ever did.
Another interesting "direction of travel" decision here.
Kemi's "New" Conservative Party has re-selected REMAINER Roger Gale as a parliamentary candidate.
Gale is 83, and recently REFUSED to vote for ECHR withdrawal, and in fact called the idea of leaving "a grave mistake."
He was previously suspended from parliament for attempted to influence judges to protect a sexual assault convict, his friend and former MP Charlie Elphicke.
Tell us, @KemiBadenoch, Is this really a NEW Conservative Party?
Or is it the SAME OLD TORIES?
