I ran into former Deputy Chief Brian Holmes of the Stoughton Police Department at the Stoughton Day festivities earlier this afternoon. I asked him, pointedly, if he was involved in the internal affairs investigation into the four former Stoughton police officers. He answered “yes” and, in response, I told him that I was proud of his actions. There are good cops out there and, if we lift them up, we will be rewarded with better community policing. If we lump all individuals into siloed groups, we turn those people into monoliths, and that’s wrong.
