I’m ready to call it. It’s been 10 seasons but it’s 100% time to fire James Franklin. I don’t care what it costs.
We’ve seen his peak. We know all of his shortcomings. I’m not interested in beating every bad team we play and losing to every good team in perpetuity.
Pat Kraft bankrupting 10 schools before signing a process oriented coach who can build & sustain this era is going to be cool for those who have the faith to believe

Just an awful take - baseball on the radio is beautiful
Replying to @DavidPSamson
@DavidPSamson says MLB no longer needs radio: "We don't need baseball on radio anymore." The former Marlins president predicts on Nothing Personal that "radio will go the way of Kodak and Blockbuster." @JohnMamola has more. #MLB

Time to switch email providers, again 🙄🙄🙄
New: you think you know Proton, but you really don't.
I spoke to 8 current employees, got Slack chats, meeting audio, and an AI manifesto written by its CTO.
“That’s bullshit and loser thinking,” Yen wrote. “Stop thinking always of how to be slower, and focus more on how to be faster.”
CEO Andy Yen critiques AI in public. But inside, he is pushing everyone to use AI, even those with security concerns 404media.co/manifestos-fear-…
Google has too many ads & astroturfed bad content, AI Chat doesn’t have ads yet.
We live in an AI Goldilocks zone that will soon go away and be replaced by AI powered ads and product placements. Enjoy it while you have it.

We should actually make wifi illegal in planes to see if we can convince people to put their phone down for over an hour
Delta Airlines CEO Ed Bastian in new interview on Delta not adopting @Starlink:
"We know what we’re doing in the space, and we’ve been the pioneer in Wi-Fi. We set that standard launching free, fast Wi-Fi that forced the industry to adopt it. We’re happy with where we sit."
He said he wasn't worried about being at a competitive disadvantage by not having Starlink. Delta said it will adopt Amazon's LEO satellite internet, but won't start installations until 2028.

this book hit young men so hard because you’re in middle school being forced to read the absolute worst most torturous irrelevant things imaginable for multiple years and then out of nowhere they hit you with 200 pages of “kid has to survive in the woods with an axe”
EXCLUSIVE: Netflix is developing a movie adaptation of "Hatchet," Gary Paulsen’s 1987 young adult survival novel.
• The film will be written and directed by Derek Cianfrance, best known for films such as “Blue Valentine” and “The Place Beyond the Pines.”
• Per the synopsis: “Hatchet” follows “13-year-old Brian Robeson, who is stranded alone in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash with nothing but the hatchet his mother gave him.”
• Paulsen later expanded the story into a five-book series that included “The River” (1991), “Brian’s Winter” (1996), “Brian’s Return” (1999) and “Brian’s Hunt” (2003).

You can if you get off your phone. I wish I was joking
The tech industry broadly deserves it
Real Penn State hockey fans know who the true enemy is in Oklahoma, and it’s neither of those teams.
"Bedlam on Ice" b/w Oklahoma State & Oklahoma's club hockey teams will be Jan. 30 at 6 pm inside Boone Pickens Stadium, sources told @On3. It's 1st Bedlam game in BPS since the rivalry's 2023 football finale. Open skating for public will be available few days around the event

The only generation that knows how computers work is also the most relaxed about AI:
Affordable tickets is actually not, not a negative flex.
Let the fans come.
People buy a “smart device” and use it for voice controlled kitchen timers and hands free Bluetooth music.
Building something 100x more powerful is useless.
This is my thesis: no one uses AI. I repeat, absolutely no one. We live in a bubble.
Even among my friends who pay for it, when I ask them to open ChatGPT and show me their queries, it’s the same handful of basic things.
Most don’t even know they can upload a photo and ask questions about it. Connecting Gmail so an agent can read and send emails blows their minds. An agent opening a browser and checking them into a flight? They’ve never even heard of it.
The massive challenge right now is adoption, and then getting people who already signed up to actually use what they’re paying for. Most have absolutely zero clue what’s possible.
Imagine the compute shortage when everyone starts using AI like the top 1% of users do today.
