Cooked at a friend's place tonight
Here we have a charred Serrano and habanero braised short rib, with a bone marrow red wine cream sauce over pommes fondant. And of course some extra bone marrow.
Not pictured: a 2023 Dolum estates cabernet sauvignon. Actually quite good.
I never buy American wine, and know nothing about it, but I got this one for free. I assumed it must be ~$40 after tasting it. It's $19 most places, an excellent value, truly.
Much more ripe fruit than the big reds I'm used to (Italian) but not unpleasant, and with enough
I call this the "squarepants tri-tip"
Tri tip, cooked in butter in a pan
Habanero slices on top (very thinly sliced)
And some feta to cut the habanero burn
Steak is rested on a knob of butter, salt, pepper, 1tsp olive oil.
Best steak ever? No.
Best ever for $17?
Try it
I store everything in tab separated iPhone notes files
Sure it's a little less efficient, but the benefits are sure to manifest soon..

What's the BROKEST thing you've ever done just to survive? 馃槶
When I was younger and money was extremely tight, I came up with a little trick.
I'd call Domino's, order a pizza, and intentionally never show up to collect it.
Then I'd wait about two hours, walk into the store like nothing happened, and ask if they had any pizzas that customers had ordered but never picked up.
Sometimes, they'd sell me one for just $3.
Was it embarrassing? Maybe.
Was it worth it? Absolutely. 馃槀
Now I want to hear your stories. What's the most ridiculously desperate or creative thing you've ever done when you were broke?
Literally the most evil possible thing of all time...
I can break bones and not just fingers or toes and not shed a tear, but if I think about this too much I cry
Everyone involved should be dragged behind SUVs
A midwife in China performed a LATE-TERM abortion at 35 weeks.
But the baby survived.
The midwife heard the baby crying inside the plastic bag.
She removed the baby from the bag and provided her with oxygen and water.
Then she sold the baby to her cousin.
Police were notified by suspicious villagers, and the midwife was ultimately arrested for child abduction.
Abortion advocates believe abortion should be allowed through all 9 months of pregnancy.
Yet babies born at 35 weeks have a 99% rate of survival.
Let that sink in.
Making 60k a year is actually so bad it should be embarrassing.
You can easily make like 80k a year as a waiter lmao
A woman making $60,000 a year tells Caleb Hammer she can鈥檛 afford a house and believes the government should buy her one.
But when he starts asking about her spending habits, things take a turn. She eats out for every meal, spending around $20 each time, yet argues that the government should take responsibility for her financial future.
You can鈥檛 refuse to manage your money and then expect everyone else to pick up the bill.
