New photos from @CBenjaminPhoto of The Institute Golf Club in the Morgan Hill area of San Jose, owned by the Fry family, formerly of Fry’s Electronics.
From 1995–2019, the 8,069-yard design operated almost in secrecy as an executive-only, invitation-only experience. It has since been re-established as an ultra-high-end, member-owned private club, with fewer than 50 members. The club hosted a NCAA Regional tournament in 2023—with team winners Mississippi State and individual winner Luke Clanton of Florida State—and has plans to host other significant tournaments in the near future.
“What impressed me the most about The Institute is that it has its own identity,” says Benjamin. “It isn’t loud, and it doesn’t need to be. It’s confident enough to let the golf course speak for itself.”

What an incredible week of capturing rustic Canyon golf course in Moorpark, California. The weather was amazing, and the course was in top condition. This Gil Hanse designed golf gem is definitely one of my favorite public tracks in golf.
