We celebrate and give thanks on #FalklandsDay, the day when the first recorded sighting of the Falkland Islands, in 1592, by English navigator, Captain John Davis, aboard his ship, The Desire was made.

At dawn we gathered to celebrate the joy of the resurrection
All the prayers left on our prayer tree have been collected, prayed for and given to God at the first Eucharist of Easter
🙌🏻 Happy Easter! 🙌🏻
Alleluia! Christ is risen.
He is risen indeed. Alleluia!
Today, we celebrate a historic moment - the installation of the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally
We also celebrate that she becomes the Bishop of the Falkland Islands with hope that she may visit us …

We join our prayers with everyone around the world for the Archbishop of Canterbury on the day of her installation.
As by association she also becomes Bishop of the Falkland Islands. 🙏
We add our prayers today, on the Confirmation of Election of the Archbishop of Canterbury and by association the next Bishop of the Falkland Islands
Such a humbling experience and a privilege to lead a service for the people based here in the Chapel at Grytviken…

The beautiful #Church at #Grytviken was pre-built in #Norway and erected by #whalers in 1913. Grateful to The Revd Hayley for coming all the way from Stanley to conduct a service for those who work in South Georgia. Truly special. @UKinNorway @SouthGeorgiaHT @GovSGSSI
God of grace and truth,
bless all who make choices in this general election. Give those who vote your spirit of wisdom and understanding.
Uphold all who stand for election: preserve their dignity, and guide them in the path of integrity. Amen.
Advent Sunday
Wonderful to have the Bishop for the Falkland Islands with us this Sunday as we commissioned and welcomed ten of our community in a joyous service of holy baptism and confirmation

All of us @CCCFalklands wish His Majesty King Charles a very happy 77th birthday.
We don't have pictures of His Majesty visiting the Cathedral during his 1999 visit so instead here is one of our resident king penguins checking out the harbour. @RoyalFamily #KingCharlesIII
Today we remember all who have given their lives in the service of their country and have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of our freedoms and to protect our way of life.
#RememberanceDay
We join our prayers with the global community of faith for the answering of the call by @bishopSarahM to be the 106 Archbishop of Canterbury
It is a great joy to hear that +Sarah Mullally is to be, among many other things, the next Bishop of the Falkland Islands.
We pray for her as she prepares to take up her role as Archbishop, for the Church of England and for the whole Anglican Communion.
We join our prayers with those across the world following the attack at Heaton Park Synagogue during Yom Kippur
It was wonderful to witness former 🇫🇰 Governor, @AlisonBlakeFCDO, bestowed the office of Canon of the Cathedral by the Bishop of the Falkland Islands at Falklands House.
