Just a bit... We have a Prime Minister who cannot go in front of a camera without putting his foot in his mouth.
Bit of confusion over whether Burnham could return Britain to EU free movement without a referendum. PM appeared to suggest this morning that “no” he wouldn’t. But his spokeswoman later said that any process would be decided at a later date, and refused to repeat the referendum guarantee.

Another enormously costly promise from a Prime Minister with no plan for delivery. We all want to see homelessness tackled. But simply throwing money at the problem is not a solution.
‘That’s £190,000 per person…’ ‘We could buy them all a house!” @NickFerrariLBC runs the numbers on the government's pledge to end rough sleeping by Christmas.

Wes Streeting caved in to the trade unions as Health Seretary. This is the result: despite taxpayer-funded pay rises, the strikes are continuing. Only the Conservatives will ban doctors' strikes and put patients and taxpayers first. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c69w…

❗John Healey resigned as Defence Secretary because Keir Starmer wouldn't fund defence with 3% of GDP. Now Healey is Chancellor, and he is kicking the can down the road just like Starmer did. ❌ Andy Burnham and his Cabinet are putting social security before national security. They are surrendering to their backbenchers and refusing to cut welfare to fund defence. 🔵Only Conservatives have the plan to get to 3% by 2030, recruit 20,000 more soldiers and protect our country with the Britannia Shield.

Angela Rayner can’t name a single pound of spending that Labour will cut - not one! 🤯 We are £3 trillion in debt, borrowing more just to pay the interest. Get a grip.

This is yet another example of Burnham’s foot in mouth syndrome. He hasn’t thought this through or the implications. Most people who voted for Brexit did so because they didn’t want free movement. Too many politicians have failed to understand the significance and impact of immigration on communities. We have had more than enough experience of what happens when politicians (including previous Conservative governments) promise control but fail to deliver it. The answer is to learn from those mistakes, not reopen free movement.
🔺 EXCLUSIVE: Andy Burnham has opened the door to Britain readopting the European Union’s free movement rules, arguing that an “honest discussion” is needed, reports @benrileysmith

🚨 John Healey has admitted that businesses have been under 'a lot of pressure' because of Labour's Unemployment Act, higher taxes and endless red tape. Who does he think is responsible?!

Simply astonishing🤯 Lucy Powell said the pay rise was fully funded. The National Education Union celebrated it despite warnings from many head teachers and the Conservatives that this wasn’t true. Now we find out SEND staff are being cut to fund the pay rise. Total chaos from Lucy Powell and it’s our must vulnerable children who are suffering.

Iran's Foreign Minister is getting a platform in Britain that his people are killed for in Iran. He claims he wants “to give diplomacy another chance” and doesn't want escalation, but he is threatening our people and his IRGC bosses are murdering thousands across the Middle East, including recently civilians in Riyadh and Yemen. No wonder @FT switched off the comments. His lies don't stand up to scrutiny.
Opinion: While Iran is firmly committed to seeking a dignified peaceful resolution to the conflict, we are also fully prepared to defend ourselves, writes Abbas Araghchi, the country's foreign minister ft.trib.al/NqUhFmq

Approving Jackdaw is the right first step, but now the Government needs to go further. End their ban on new licences, scrap the windfall tax, approve Rosebank, secure our energy, and back British jobs.

"Next week at the Budget the Prime Minister has a choice. "Cut spending. Cut the deficit. Cut tax. That is the Conservative plan. A plan that even his former economic adviser Andy Haldane says is the better way. "So will he follow that plan or will he bottle it, just like Keir Starmer did?" @KemiBadenoch #PMQs

"There is a red warning light flashing on the economy. "Just this morning, total government borrowing hit £3 trillion, its highest ever. "That’s £100,000 for every household in the country. "Even the Prime Minister's former economic adviser, Andy Haldane has warned that Britain faces 'a precarious fiscal backdrop'. "In July, the Prime Minister said, 'The question isn’t whether Britain will still be using oil and gas, the question is where does it come from?' "He was right. Does the Prime Minister accept that every barrel of North Sea oil we produce is a barrel that Europe won't buy from Vladimir Putin?" @KemiBadenoch #PMQs
