Will the @NIH be funding research into an iatrogenic disease caused by commonly prescribed antidepressants? In the past several decades, almost no public money has gone towards researching irreversible Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD).

"People who have actually been damaged by antidepressants that have something like PSSD. At the moment, there's no lights at the end of the tunnel for them. There's not really any funding going on into testing."
@elliotbewick asks Jay Bhattacharya (@NIHDirector_Jay) about PSSD.

Alberta court just signed off on a $7.5m Paxil birth-defect payout.
- GSK still won’t say the drug did it.
- Lawyers still take their cut.
- The kids still have the defects.
- Same old Paxil routine.
- Settle. Deny. Move on.
If the evidence was that weak, they wouldn’t keep writing the cheques.

Look at the financial conflicts of the 1991 FDA Psychopharmacologic Drugs advisory committee members at the end of video. Majority had ties to makers of antidepressant products.
There was no voice representing the public on this committee then. Fast forward, I spent the last 9 years as consumer Rep on this same committee. I was often only NO vote.

Where Is the Culpability for the Psychiatric Practitioners in the Lindsay Clancy Case?
The public trial and the testimony of the psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses who treated Lindsay Clancy have brought global attention to the negligent standard of care that is rampant in the psychiatric industry.
A primary psychiatrist who never once examined her patient in person and couldn’t be bothered to find out what other drugs were being added to the cocktail of more than a dozen psychiatric drugs she had already prescribed. Multiple psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses who piled on mind-altering drugs in a matter of months with zero coordination, and who ignored the reports of side effects from Lindsay and her husband while remaining apparently ignorant of the FDA-documented side effects of the drugs they were prescribing—including aggression, hostility, rage, numbness, intrusive thoughts, and suicidal ideation—choosing instead to escalate the chemical assault.
This is not an isolated failure—It is the routine product of a system in which psychiatrists almost never check for underlying medical conditions and routinely skip even the most basic and standard work-ups—such as a simple thyroid panel that guidelines explicitly recommend for postpartum patients presenting with these exact symptoms—preferring instead to just say “yes” to drugs. Then, after those drugs produce severe side effects, every complaint from the patient is treated as nothing but a justification to pile on more drugs.
When gross negligence of this kind occurs, psychiatric practitioners should permanently lose their licenses. That is the bare minimum. They should also face malpractice charges for the catastrophic damage their chemical assaults produce. This case does not merely expose one instance of complete psychiatric failure—it pulls back the curtain on what is common practice in the psychiatry industry, and why it must finally be held to account.

Choosing to see a psychiatrist might be the worst decision you’ll ever make. The drugs can be brutal to taper off of, and society is taught to gaslight you into believing you are—and have always been—the problem. Your adverse reactions will be leveraged into new diagnoses.
From the Lindsay Clancy trial: "I was the healthiest, happiest mom, I worked out every morning, meditated and took care of myself so I could be the best for my kids. Until prescription medication stole me from my own body." As an ignorant psych nurse, I was taught to label patients like this "somatic" and "histrionic." Psychiatry blames the victim.

You cannot credibly champion “evidence-based care” while disregarding evidence of harm caused by the treatment system itself.
WHO’s 2026 evidence review acknowledges that ECT may have long-term adverse effects on overall cognitive function. Yet patients are still too often assured that memory loss is temporary, rare or reversible, while permanent autobiographical loss remains inadequately documented, investigated and acknowledged.
@SecKennedy @HHSGov @US_FDA:
Will this reform agenda include an independent review of ECT devices, consent language, adverse-event reporting and long-term cognitive outcomes?
Or must we wait until ECT is remembered as another psychiatric catastrophe—like lobotomy—before regulators confront the evidence of lasting harm?
History should not have to repeat itself before institutions find the courage to act.
Recovery without accountability is rhetoric.
Evidence without survivors is incomplete.

I have routinely come across clients who have been on "antidepressants" for 10 years between the ages of 15-25. They identify as asexual because they have no sex drive. They were never told that these drugs numb the genitals and sexual dysfunction is a common effect.

The reason why fraudulent antidepressant studies are not retracted by the Psychiatric medical establishment & remain part of the training curriculum (see STAR*D) is simple. If the general public & trained professionals became aware it would end Psychiatry as a viable healthcare specialty and wipe out the antidepressant market. The product liability lawsuits themselves would be astronomical. The public trust in western medicine would be further destroyed.

.@GSK aggressively marketed Paxil off-label for children from 1998 to 2003 until trials showed it increased risk of suicide in teens. A 2004 lawsuit revealed GSK had actively buried negative safety and efficacy data regarding children while publishing a fraudulent study (written by a ghostwriter) claiming Paxil is safe and effective for teens. This study (Study 329) was never retracted.

Let’s never forget the 1991 FDA advisory committee hearings were on the emergence of violence and suicide with Prozac.
It’s time we hold investigations like we did with suicide in mid 2000s. To this day, there are been no federal investigations.
Thankfully, Tennessee after the just passed legislation to test for therapeutic levels of psychotropic drugs and other relevant substances in shooters.
Great job @ablechild and Amy Miller for tireless dedication.

The violent behavior issue wasn’t discovered decades later after these drugs hit the market.
It showed up in clinical trials.
Families later uncovered documents during lawsuits indicating the risk was known—and minimized.
A 1991 FDA hearing even addressed antidepressant-linked suicide and violence.
That was 35 years ago!
