Just finished doing an accessibility audit of @ColchesterJr with some Gr.9 students as part of their Citizenship 9 service learning project. We were all surprised to learn about some of the barriers that exist for people who use wheelchairs.
What a treat to start my day listening to Ava and Principal Trenholme interviewed on Information Morning about the amazing garden they built at Northport Consolidated through their UpLift grant. cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-2…

What a great event!
Still feeling very elated and grateful for an amazing Youth Summit last Friday! We had nearly 60 kiddos from 14 schools come together to celebrate their leadership in building healthy schools. So much fun! @UpLiftNS
Great job Wallace! @CCRCE_NS @Chignecto_FoSS
On Friday, I visited Wallace Ele. for a year-end UpLift celebration/reflection. Overall, students loved the experience and said it felt amazing to be the "boss" and be trusted to make decisions about how to spend the grant to improve their school! @UpLiftNS
Very impressed by the leadership and artistic talent of the Oxford students! Also very thankful to YHC Coordinator, Amanda, for always supporting great student leadership initiatives at OREC and SJSHS! @CCRCE_NS @Chignecto_FoSS
Today I got to deliver the UpLift cheque to the Oxford Refresh Committee. This is a group of Gr. 7-12 students who have been working on inclusive murals, gardens, and other initiatives to “refresh” the school. Great job, Oxford Regional Education Ctr! @UpLiftNS

Great job Parrsboro High! @Chignecto_FoSS @CCRCE_NS
High fives to the Parrsboro High UpLift student leaders!
They were very thoughtful with their project selection and chose things that would appeal to diverse interests and needs, including musical instruments/lesson; physical activity equipment; and an infinity table. @UpLiftNS
