I didn't get that vibe at first, but I reread them and I see what you mean. A lot of people treat sex as transactional, which is an awful way to view what should be the most intimate thing two people can do. It's no longer something special - it's a checkbox.

People are saying "HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?!", but it comes down to building tenancy and the priority list, which is largely influenced by how much of a draw a team or league is. The WNBA, being a garage league on a good day, is like the 4th or 5th tenant in most of their buildings, so when there's a date conflict they're f'ed - the WNBA has to move their date or move the game elsewhere. I'd bet even concerts are slated above WNBA games in most places.

No-fault divorce (while it does have its uses) has made it almost trivially easy to get out of a marriage, which rather defeats the purpose of the thing.

I can't be too hard on him, because he's largely just playing the cards he's dealt. That's just how it is out there in the modern dating hellscape. More women should take your approach, really, but that ship sailed 40 years ago and has disappeared over the horizon.
