I’ve said this for quite a while and get told I have an agenda. Since January we’ve demonstrated relegation form.
Yes recent back to back wins brought a glimmer of hope but Saturday’s defeat brings us crashing back down to earth.
Since the start of March, Chelsea have lost more games in all competitions than any other side in Europe's big-five leagues… [@OptaJoe]
Erm…?!
A big week at Chelsea and for XA. I’m not in the camp of sack him. I think that’s incredibly short sighted. I have faith he’ll learn from the mistakes he’s made which undeniably there have been a few.
I want to see more from XA. More proactiveness. I want to see an identity forming. There is an underlying feeling of passiveness, a lack of ideas, and ability to influence games from the sidelines.
Xabi needs to do better. He can do better and I think he will do better.
I fear for Joao Pedro’s injury. It’s no surprise two of our worst performances so far have been with him missing.
Alonso has failed to read the room which fundamentally is on him.
The Carra interview at Cobham and losing to Spurs in the same week is not a good look.
This defeat is hard to swallow.
I remember growing up watching a Chelsea playing week in week out with 11 captains! There wasn’t one on display tonight.
One thing is evident. Xabi doesn’t rate the squad. The lack of personnel changes to influence games speaks volumes.
Quenda, Barco, Penders, Emegha, Palestra were always likely to have a limited impact on results/games.
Alonso knows this. I wonder how the squad is addressed in the next window. I wonder how much influence he will have and whether the club will invest in players that can make a significant impact.
Our midfield would have benefited from a player with Bruno G’s experience, know how, shithousery, and quality today.
Investing in players for now that have limited resale value but an upside of transforming the club needs to be a priority.
Just waiting to see who gets the first goal then reacting isn’t what we hired you for.
It was clear as day the game plan today wasn’t working 20 mins in.
We all expect a manager that is proactive. That wants to influence the game with their managerial prowess.
We didn’t see that from Alonso today.
Xabi Alonso:
"It was about the first goal and it went their way and with 10 men it was difficult but we can do better. Chances were the main thing, they had few and we had few. We spoke at half time we had to be patient and be mature. We can do better.”

The game was screaming out for a change at HT. Alonso sat on his hands. Really poor from him. There was no game plan all game. Clear as day it needed changing. Alonso clearly doesn’t understand that we don’t lose to them lot at home. Really concerning.
That first half screams Joao Pedro’s injury completely derailed the game plan. I expect Xabi to acknowledge it’s not working and make some changes.
Friday morning before a big game against the spuds 💙
Another manic week, kids running wild, wife moaning about another “big game”.
I must say I’m incredibly impressed and equally surprised by an upturn in performances, form, balance across the team, and a glimmer of hope that is currently on display.
There is also a weird peace and enjoyment of not playing mid week games this season 🤷♂️
04:45 setting off for The Hill Dickinson! First away outside of London this season.
Expecting the same 11 as last week and 3 fucking pts! UTC
A race against time 🤣🤣
Like he’s going to get any minutes regardless if he’s fit or not.
Fucking hell 🤣
🚨🔵 Speaking before the Bournemouth game, Alonso confirmed that Jamie Gittens faces approximately three weeks out.
Gittens is in a race against time to return before the end of the month for the game against Man United at the Bridge on Oct 31st.

Another player calling out incompetence. We had two players last season do the same and they have coincidentally been sold.
It’s about time the mirror was held up to these directors who have so much control yet don’t seem to be accountable for substandard outcomes.
🚨 Lisandro Martinez calls out Manchester United's recruitment following the loss to Atletico in an interview with Amazon.
"We had a fantastic season last season and now we expect more from the top."
Q: This is not a UCL-quality squad? Did you expect more investment in the summer?
"Yes, 100%.
"I expected more from our technical director...
"[Carrick] does his best... You can keep changing, changing, changing the manager, but what about other areas? I can't say more.
"It's easy to say the coach. It's easy to say the players, but we also have to 'see' others [who are to blame]."
Clutching at straws these City lot.
There’s a remarkable difference between greasing the hands of agents to get deals done that were proven to have no material impact on PSR. Versus a club systematically cooking the books to inflate revenue.
The funny thing is this is the most relevant they’ve ever been in their history.
We still smashed you cheating bastards in Porto.
