I do wonder whether some of the justifications given for his sacking was around the way, rightly or wrongly, he wasn't taken seriously by large quarters and that reflected poorly on the club.
Also seems to align with reports he wasn't respected at all by players within the club.
🚨Rosenior on his time at Chelsea:
“I don’t want to go into details now; I’ll talk about it one day, when the time is right. But in a country where tolerance is an important value, what happened there has nothing to do with football.” [So Foot via @Sport_Witness]
Josh does a number of these every games and up until recently, has often delayed too long on releasing it. If he can get the timing right as frequently as he did yesterday it's such a powerful tool to have in our build up.
Weird one because I thought individually both midfielders played excellently but the system doesn't really do them favours.
Front line press isn't working and the gaps between them and the defence are too large - a lot of their good work was forced, slightly desperate actions
truly baffled by why people care, unless it's purely agenda driven point scoring against the club - everything he's done since suggests he doesn't give a fuck, so neither should you.
Was a great deal for us
It pains me to see him in this shirt.
Clearlake sold him to the wrong club. teapaw.org/thinkermase/status/211…
I think this period of Penders playing will be a blessing in disguise because he's been largely excellent, minus the obvious mistake v Spurs
Would like to see him be a bit more dominant in the box given his frame but he looks more than comfortable in that role and will only grow
Brilliant response from Penders this week.
Best player on the pitch at Anfield and rock solid today to keep the clean sheet.
No reason to rush Martinez back who wasn’t playing well before the injury
anyway.

Alonso speaking glowingly about Estevao in the post match, hopefully this is a complete corner turned in his usage moving forward.
Thought he was excellent, the only thing that let him down a tiny bit was how much he was trying to force a goal for himself but somewhat understandable given limited opportunity to prove himself.
A constant source of energy in the game, need to see more of him moving forward

What a game from Lavia by the way. One of the very few who was excellent from start to finish. Josh, Penders really good too.
Lavia a clear MOTM for me, grew into the game and made all the difference in the middle.
Estevao showing why he's so useful and needs to be given more opportunities with special shout outs to Caicedo & Acheampong.
Less said about Fofana the better
surprised its lost on so many that there’s a very large middle ground between starting every week and being frozen out of getting any minutes behind a not firing front line
Clubs better than us would give Estevao much more opportunity than we currently are, stop kidding yourself
Thought he was great last night and actually thought he was pretty good against Spurs too (minus the mistake, of course).
Of all the new recruits, he's the one I'm least worried about, wouldn't be surprised he's starting come the end of the season
Unfortunately some of this falls down when he's behind Quenda in the pecking order despite more PL experience.
He shouldn't be starting every game but the fact he's not even getting 20-30 minutes to prove himself in games we could benefit from having him is ridiculous
It is understood Estevao's limited role under Alonso is not the result of a fall-out, and purely down to tactical and technical decisions.
Chelsea’s manager has hinted that the physicality of the Premier League is a contributing factor while promising greater chances as the season progresses.
External sources have confided that his situation is piquing interest within Premier League and European circles.

If everyone was flying and he wasn't able to get into the team then fairs, that's the struggles of being at a big club but that isn't the case - we're in that dangerous territory where people are amplifying negatives to a huge degree to justify what is an unjustifiable omission
Not overly fussed about the result last night, a kick away from winning away at Anfield with big players missing isn't the end of the world - however it has confirmed that we need to be absolutely surgical with some departures and additions in the summer
the whole Estevao thing feels like a point is trying to be proved but I can't for the life of me work out what point that is.
