The Dem statewide lead is going to be close to 20,000 ballots by day’s end, a 5 percentage point lead over Repubs. I’ll try to get a brief post up later. Very bad weekend for Rs during a two-day period they dominated in 2022.

Around 1500, Hieronymus Bosch painted sheet music on a sinner's bare butt in hell. 500 years later, someone transcribed and performed it. Now you can hear the original butt song from hell.

I guess they've decided to lie flagrantly, instead of trying to hide it. Easier, anyway.
We are moderate liberals, and our books contain moderate liberal ideas. Data Republican, Curtis Yarvin, Nick Land, Martin Sellner, Steve Sailer, Paul Gottfried, John Derbyshire, Justin Lee, Taki, and the rest of our authors are moderate liberals. Is publishing the original text of The Hardy Boys radical?

Lots of people are asking me where to give their money - if you can only do one race, I’d give what you can to @MaryPeltola Several reasons: 1) It’s a small state, so your money goes further per expected senate vote 2) Direct donations buy 19x ads per dollar than committees due to the unit rule - this also frees up the DSCC and SMP to put their money on states with smaller IE/coord ad price spreads and frees them up to spend more on digital 3) it’s likely going to be close! It’s not too late! Any money you send today will get spent immediately and will provide real relief to an overworked campaign workers across a bunch of orgs! secure.actblue.com/donate/mp…

Yep. Both Hamas and Netanyahu’s Israel achieved their objectives, and now Hamas is effectively destroyed and Israel is hugely delegitimated.
Ezra Klein: “Most Israeli Jews now see the world the way Netanyahu has long seen it. That is Netanyahu’s great victory. But it is matched by his great loss: Much of the world now sees Israel the way Gazans see it.” nytimes.com/2026/10/25/opini… via @NYTOpinion

Friday's batch is in, and VA's EV got 0.1% redder. VA's 2026 electorate is 1% bluer (again, on turnout) than 2025. That's still a very blue electorate (~est. 7.5% left of the 2024 prez-vote margin). But it's down from when Ds were at 3.8% left of 2025. The big tell is tmrw.
The first batch of satellite voting is in, and Rs have held Ds to a 1.1% bluer electorate than in 2025, just like yesterday. "Vibes" over the last week have been Rs starting to come out in EV nationwide; by Sunday (Friday/Saturday are the big satellite days), we'll get a good read on whether the trends during The Lull hold or not. projects.statenavigate.com/i…

I don’t feel too inferior to other departments, and in fact, sometimes I do struggle with my own snobbery. I know I’m only one humanist, but I feel pretty good about the work I am doing, and my teaching, and what I am curating in my research.
Humanists should be snobby about the fact that they are stewarding a tradition that stretches back thousands of years rather than doing busy work involving little technical puzzles. Instead they find dumb “research” niches to fill because STEM gave them an inferiority complex.

Important reminder: It was the @JoeBiden DoJ that opened the @SenLouiseLucas investigation.
The Lucas investigation reportedly began under the Biden administration over alleged corruption. Inconvenient fact but true. But the way this Administration rolls out today's indictment, with high-profile appearances from the DOJ and FBI ... That's political. That's scary.

Everyone has their own limits. Mine were crossed as he descended the gold escalator. But if you needed to wait till he defended people who punked on 12yo rape victims, well, better late than never. Still, pretty sure this is just a momentary hesitation for this person
