Fran Hunt-Jinnouchi is the ED of the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness. She knows how to end homelessness.
Now we just need to replicate and scale this for everyone.
ALT Screen shot of a quote that says, "My take away to date still remains that we must provide housing first and ensure each person has a sense of welcoming, non-judgment, and safety. Then turning the focus to transmitting life skills and cultural knowledge to help each person to create a sense of place, and connection to their community and family. This then helps to provide a sense of purpose, and with a sense of purpose and place, a rising of hope.

On behalf of @THSVic, I am grateful for the privilege to have attended the Speech from the Throne today. The integration of Lekwungen culture and ceremony into the process was a highlight. Well done today, @LGJanetAustin. Thank you, @GraceALore, for the kind invitation.

Wonderful to be here at #CAEH23 in Halifax. So much energy and urgency in the room for bold action to end homelessness in Canada. Feeling some optimism in terms of government response. We have so far still to go, and we've got to keep feet to fire. Thx @SeanFraserMP & @MPfoh

Tomorrow, Council will consider the Bayview development in Vic West. This is likely the largest development in Victoria history, and has been in the works for 20+ years. The proposal includes 1870 homes, density of 4.58 FSR, and approx $18.9M in public amenities. Thoughts? #yyj

Thanks @AWayHomeCa and @COHomelessness for hosting the International Symposium on Youth Transitions from Child Protection. It was a meaningful event and has energized an entire system toward action. We must do better in Canada at caring for our most vulnerable young people.
