Today, DHS and @USCG honor the life and service of Senior Chief Terrell Horne, who was killed in the line of duty while defending our nation from violent drug smugglers. On December 2, 2012, the Coast Guard Cutter Halibut was patrolling near Santa Cruz Island, California, when a smuggling vessel attempted to disable the Coast Guard’s small boat by ramming it. The impact left Horne trapped by the drug boat’s sharp propeller.
