Posts like this and the replies really demonstrate the harm of social media. To so confidently broadcast such scaremongering inaccuracies causes so much misplaced distrust of the health service and makes delivering actual clinical care impossible to those who need it most.
Exactly. The NHS decides that you are beyond help and taking up a bed and so attaches a "driver", a box of powerful morphine and anti-anxiety drugs, to your veins. I've heard palliative nurses say "It's time for the driver" when someone was chatting to me. They are then rendered unconcsious and unable to eat or drink never mind communicate and hey....the next thing is they're dead.

The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu was the first school trip I remember going on. Real end of an era vibes here. Sad news for car geeks everywhere

Some of these are ridiculous but one guy asks the Embassy how much duck paté he's allowed to bring back into the UK and I think that's just sensible.
Nobody likes getting an unexpected bill after all
🚨🇬🇧 NEW: The Foreign Office has revealed some of the most unusual requests for consular assistance made by British citizens abroad
🇮🇹 A caller in Italy asked where they could watch the Scotland v Haiti group game in Milan
🇯🇴 A tourist in Jordan asked whether the embassy knew where they could get blonde highlights
🇫🇷 In Paris, one caller asked how much duck pâté they could bring back to the UK, while another wanted the embassy’s help finding where they had parked their car near the Eiffel Tower
🇬🇪 A British citizen in Georgia asked whether their two pets could be granted British citizenship to guarantee them diplomatic protection

What a frustratingly on brand response from 'senior leaders'. This reads entirely as the usual keyword salad that is applied to any topical issue in lieu of actual measurable and achievable goals

As people are discussing Andy Burnham’s plan not to have Number 10 as his main home, my mind drifts to the outrage over Starmer saying he would take a few hours off as ‘family time’ on Friday nights
Totally wild to think we lost Kier Starmer, a details guy who understood the law and got on with things quietly, for this joker who wants to move government to, checks notes, his house in Manchester. At vast taxpayer expense. Fundamentally unserious clown

Replacing Starmer with Burnham would be the worst downgrade since Lazenby took over from Sean Connery.
The NHS of the future obviously won't look like this. AI isn't going to be able to decide if a hernia is reducible or if there's surgical emphysema. It's not going to do holistic palliative care. We're led by uneducated fools who'll widen inequality via negligence and soundbites
In the NHS of the future, you may never need a doctor or nurse, says NHS England chair Penny Dash. Smartphone care, AI and robotics will transform the medical system, and automate entire patient pathways she believes: thetimes.com/article/d408694…

413,793 Kit Kats is roughly 7.5 laps of the track if you laid them end to end.
Hope this helps
This news item is incredible and I have so many questions. What is 12 tons as a proportion of the global KitKat supply? How does someone fence 12 tons of KitKats? Is there a black market for KitKats? Was the driver having a break at the time?
Mind. Blown.
Did you know there was a massive conspiracy theory that the majority of adult men in Pokémon died in a modern war?
• The Veteran: Lt. Surge canonically fought in a at least one brutal war. He states that Electric Pokémon saved his life by zapping his enemies into paralysis.
• No Fathers: Walk through Kanto. Almost every house has a mother and a child — and an empty seat at the table. Where are the men?
• The Missing Generation: The adult men in Kanto are either elderly, gym leaders, or criminals. The regular working-age fathers? Gone
• The Children: Why would an entire society send 10-year-olds out to map the region with a Pokédex? Because there's nobody else left to do it.
• The Gyms: Why does a country have a militarized system of combat arenas training children to fight with powerful creatures? Because they're rebuilding. The gym system isn't entertainment — it's a new draft pipeline
• The Crime Wave: Giovanni formed Team Rocket in the power vacuum. No functioning military. No police infrastructure (Officer Jenny is spread impossibly thin). Classic post-war organized crime
But maybe it's just a massive string of coincidences!... Or is it? 🤔
